* When a staff member told him that his nanny's Social Security number belonged to someone else — effectively killing his bid for the Homeland job — "I wanted to take the f---ing gun off the desk and shoot him."

and burying his huge corruption activities under a pile of words.

bernie kerik's an ass, but he has been reacting all his days, and he started out with nothing, so we should keep our eyes on the real devils ie bushinc.....they maybe needed kerik to pave way for condi rice/gonzales/wolfowitz nominations, by being so outre that rice as sec of staples, gonzales as torturemeister and wolfwits as baldhead (of world bank) all seem halfway reasonable
