<snip> Whether it is something as large as tuition hikes or as small as a drab student union, we can fix these problems and find solutions as individuals or as groups.
For example, with tuition hikes, we as students have got to understand that Ohio politicians are able to get away with cutting funds for higher education not just because we don't vote as much as baby boomers, but because we don't put real pressure on our politicians and administrators. We as students may not have the capital our parents have, but we do have our youth.
As students, we must take radical steps for ensuring that these problems don't come up again. A general student strike, occupying random areas or simply refusing to buy textbooks for our classes, would cause havoc at any university. These are steps ensure that the bureaucrats in Columbus know that we are mad.
We need to get our professors involved in our struggles. After all, these are the people that teach us. After students, they are the most powerful constituency at a university. By allying ourselves with faculty members, we will become a powerful force. <snip>
