Oil-For-Food Scandal: Justice or a Political Vendetta? (Howard U Hilltop)
Republicans on Capitol Hill are calling for the resignation of Secretary-General, of the U.N, Kofi Annan once again, which apparently stems from the U.N. Oil-For-Food scandal. In response to these calls, former British Ambassador to the U.N. Lord, David Hannay, may be on to something when he says, "the United States has many traditions, some good and some bad...the worst of the bad is the lynch mob. The best of the good is due process. We need more due process and less lynch mob." <snip>

Speaking truth-to-power, Annan's position was clear and interesting. He said, "I have indicated that it was not in conformity with the UN charter from our point of view, and from the charter point of view it was illegal." We have to ask: is Annan correct? Yes, he is.

And the next thing you know, Fox News hits in their typically haunting-sensational-distractive way, "some evidence suggests that some of the money ended up in the hands of potential terrorists who are opposed to the United States." So now, the UN is aiding terrorists? Like a few bad actors represent the entire U.N., and mind you, we are a member state? <snip>
