The Rejection Of The Eggheads

The DU article listed above just scratches the surface.

About 50 years ago Isaac Asimov wrote a terrific essay called "The Cult Of Ignorance," where he shows how ignorance and outright stupidity are celebrated in the media.

It's 2005, and this is still going on.

1. its all about control

Whenever a conservative government wishes to seize power, the first thing to go is input by intellectuals. You see them bashed all of the time on FOX news. Back to the book of Genesis where knowledge is evil. The conservatives what a society of lemmings.

In China, it was the "purge" of the cultural revolution. In Cambodia, also a purge but more transparent to the world. In America, its legislation like the "Academic Bill of Rights" and the "Constitution Restoration Act" to silence intellectuals and judges. Remove the input of the most intelligent people in society to better gain control of the masses.
