Bill O'Reilly said "I have to pick on the ACLU because they're the most dangerous organization in America right now...There's nobody even close to that. They're like, second next to Al Qaeda." (Translation: the ACLU are terrorists and, like cockroaches, must be killed.)

Ann Coulter said "My only regret with Timothy McVeigh is that he didn't come to the New York Times Building" (Translation: terrorist attacks against liberal institutions are acceptable) and "When contemplating liberals, you really regret once again that John Walker is not getting the death penalty. We need to execute people like John Walker in order to physically intimidate liberals, by making them realize that they can be killed, too." (Translation: Watch out, liberal cockroaches, you are marked men and women.)

And finally, Michael Savage. "We need racist stereotypes now of our enemy in order to encourage our warriors to kill the enemy" and "to fight only the al-Qaida scum is to miss the terrorist network operating within our own borders...Who are these traitors? Every rotten radical left-winger in this country, that's who." (Translation: those of the same ethnicity as the terrorists can legally be carpet bombed and liberals should be given the death penalty.)

You can dismiss Coulter and Savage as those crazy people who we keep around because they're funny. But then... people aren't laughing anymore. It's serious.

Make no mistake--these right-wing shills take orders from the White House. Limbaugh frequently discusses the cocktail parties and other high-level events that he attends with Cheney, Junior and other WH officials.

Whatever venom these hatemongers spew--comes from WH marching orders.

They ALL have the EXACT talking points. That's no coincidence. It's a coordinated propaganda attack.

Many people consider right-wing-hate radio as bothersome drivel to which they rarely listen. I think it's dangerous to tune out.

Their words reveal White House communications strategy. It could be foiled easily if the damn Democrats would get in the game.

So far, our strategy has been to ignore Rush and the rest of the gang. Since Rush's show began, the Dems have lost total control of Congress and the White House a couple of times. There's a direct correlation, and hate radio will continue to influence, as long as the Dems remain silence and don't fight back.

I have been a 'card carrying member' of the ACLU since 1984 when I turned 18.

Last month the ACLU cold-called me and asked if, given the desperate nature of our national situation vis-a-vis civil liberties, I would be interested in their "Guardian of Liberty" program. This is the designation they have given to those supporters who make regular month contributions.

I only pledge $10/month, but those regular pledges help them with an operating budget.
