Washington Whispers: US News & World Report

Looking through Washington Whispers today I noted a little blurb about pollster Frank Luntz using a "cool gimmick" to size up the Democratic presidential candidates. Apparently it consists of a dial for the audience; half of whom are Republican and half Democratic. The dial is turned in approval or disapproval when a candidate speaks. Here is what he found:

First, no matter what the Rep. Dick Gephardt said, both sides dialed him a loser. Howard Dean, meanwhile, got consistently high numbers. And anytime the candidates personally attacked each other or President Bush, the disapproval dial was hit.

Definitely a lesson to be learned from this. Candidates should NOT go negative. They should do what Clinton did; give the public a clear change and hope for reviving the economy and job growth.IMHO

where's our version of Rush or Bill O'really?

I actually saw this in the magazine. It seems they only post the top story on the website. Like I said, it was just a little blurb. I pretty much paraphrased most of the article, but the snip is exact wording. I'll include the link, but I couldn't find it under Washiton Whispers, maybe you can.
