Indie band urges fans to call crank
BY MIKE MILIARD
One of the best songs by X, the old Los Angeles punk group, is a snarling, accusatory rant called "Your Phone’s Off the Hook, But You’re Not."
It’s a tune Fox News blowhard Sean Hannity might want to acquaint himself with soon. Because another band, Brooklyn indie-politicos Kids Against Combs, have fallen into possession of Hannity’s home phone number. And they’ve made it the title of their forthcoming album. The disc, on 10-34 Records, hits shelves next Thursday, July 21. Après ça, le déluge.
In the liner notes to Sean Hannity (631) 673-
(we blocked out the last digits to keep from spoiling the band’s surprise), fans will find an open letter to the pugnacious talking head, taking him to task for his "arrogant faux journalism and uninformed commentary" and decrying the fact that his "deception, slander and arrogance have left a scar on the minds of Americans."
