Meltdown? - Bush's free ride is over
Edited on Fri Oct-03-03 08:01 PM by dArKeR
It’s not just the CIA scandal. The latest data on jobs, poverty and the uninsured are all combining to paint a picture of a Bush administration in disarray.

The zeitgeist is shifting. Liberal books are moving up the best-seller list. Rush Limbaugh is getting disparaged for racial insensitivity and allegedly buying illegal drugs. And the controversy over administration officials leaking the identity of an undercover CIA operative has put conservatives in the indefensible position of condoning treason.

THE SPY STORY engulfing the White House is the catalyst for the Bush meltdown. But we wouldn’t be obsessing over who sanctioned and spread political dirt if the Bush team had found weapons of mass destruction in Iraq. The ballooning scandal is a symptom and not the cause of Bush’s problems.
Bush staged the most elaborate and expensive coup d’etat in history. All he did was remove Saddam Hussein from power. With no WMD uncovered and American soldiers dying daily in Iraq, the president’s policies—along with his credibility—are in tatters.

2. Like the last paragraph
" Instead of landing on the USS Lincoln, he should have landed in the well of Congress and said this was only the beginning of a long, hard struggle. In addition to worrying about civil war in Iraq between the Sunnis and the Shiites, the dam has broken here at home. The career intelligence professionals at the CIA, closing ranks around one of their own, are openly warring against the administration ideologues. Caught in the cross-fire, Bush's free ride is over."

Let's hope Eleanor Cliff is right about this.

3. Check out this quote
A Senate GOP backer of the Iraq war says the Justice Department probe is eroding voter confidence in the president. “Bush promised to restore honor and integrity to the Oval Office. This is diminishing him. He looks smaller, less commanding.” The GOP source says he is disgusted by White House efforts to tar Wilson as an antiwar partisan. “The administration moves from honor and integrity to slime and defend,” says this Republican.

5. Great line
"Bush staged the most elaborate and expensive coup d’etat in history."

8. Except we all know he didn't really stage either coup.

The coup in Washington in 2000 and the overthrow of Evildoer Saddam were both staged by the PNAC puppet masters pulling the Puppet-in-Chief's puppet strings from behind the curtains. Shrub has a hard enough time finding his ass in the dark wtih both hands. Not bloody likely he'd have the wherewithall to stage coups.

10. You KNOW we're making an impact when
you turn the radio dial on the AM dial, and cruise from one conservative hate-radio station to the next, and all you hear is screeching and lambasting. It seems that they're all very upset that the Democrats are 'attacking their man' for no reason, and they're 'tearing this country apart', and those awful 'liberals'.

I can't remember when I've heard them quite this upset, so you can be guaranteed we're causing a stir.

12. Bush Meltdown
George W. reminds me of my ex-wife, too arrogant for the
family's welfare. He will not accomplish a damn thing from now
until the big election of 2004. Our political system is
flawed! A president can not give his unbiased, best thinking
to the U.S. while he's seeking re-election. It just can't
happen. So, what can we do until January, 2004? Suffer! I lost
my job with Caterpillar in August, 2001. I'm out of
unemployment compensation. My ex is about to have me locked up
for child support -contemt of court. Do i have to wear a
barrel to survive in the world outside my little apartment?
Bush will continue to melt down until we are hit again with a
major terrorist disaster, and then we be so weak will might
not ever pull out. The antichrist? Bin Laden, Hussein, or
george W.?
