Tight Constraints on Pentagon's Freedom Walk - WP
Event Remembering 9/11, Troops to Be Kept 'Sterile,' Limited to Preregistered

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2005/09/08/AR2005090802140.html

Can anyone say Nuremberg? These folks are, to borrow from Pickles, DISGUSTING. You have to love the ironic use of Constraints and Freedom......

Hopefully, the media will report this for what it is, a Government sponsored, totally controlled and staged event, Propaganda at a basic level.

<SNIP>
Organizers of the Pentagon's 9/11 memorial Freedom Walk on Sunday are taking extraordinary measures to control participation in the march and concert, with the route fenced off and lined with police and the event closed to anyone who does not register online by 4:30 p.m. today.

The march, sponsored by the Department of Defense, will wend its way from the Pentagon to the Mall along a route that has not been specified but will be lined with four-foot-high snow fencing to keep it closed and "sterile," said Allison Barber, deputy assistant secretary of defense.

2. If anyone lives in DC-- please register and report back to us
First- to see if you make it though registration. If not, there's a story there to begin with about being denied permission to be part of a public event sponsored by our country. If you do get a ticket, go and take photos and do your best to interview or at least speak with people there- maybe shoot some video. We can then send it out to media and to our lists. "Photos of the four foot high snow fencing to keep it closed and "sterile" are chilling words."

Remember folks, if the Pentagon is sponsoring this, these are our tax dollars here being spent.

They really are disgusting.

6. "One restricted group will be the media"
"One restricted group will be the media, whose members will not be allowed to walk along the march route. Reporters and cameras are restricted to three enclosed areas along the route but are not permitted to walk alongside participants walking from the Pentagon, across the Memorial Bridge to the Mall."

Perhaps the ACLU should consider action.
