1. I wish Dems wouldn't be the butt of it.
Edited on Sun Oct-02-05 04:10 PM by StClone
We were shot in the back by Rs after which they stoled everything in sight including the truth, does that make us weak? We may appear weak but that is because they for now have control of reality through Propaganda.

15. No, we appear weak because they are weak.
If the were strong, if they had the courage of their convictions, they'd be standing up and pummeling these freaks. They'd be slowing down every bit of the Repub. agenda. They'd be having daily pressers blasting these dumbasses. They'd be daily talking about how their AGENDA (of which, there isn't on) is better for America than the Republican BS.

The Repubs were in the minority as recently as 1994. No one was calling them weak for it. And there is a good reason for that.

6. what came first, the chicken or the eggs?
the media has been fukking up perceptions since long ago....and when clinton was prez, it was clear the media was a bush pusher/clinton basher....the dems are players in the bush extravanganza, but the pigmedia call the cards.....and they lie down as often as not so the dems maybe weary of gambling the kids future on a pair of aces that are really wooden nickles....who wants to buy a pig in a poker game?

16. So, who is to blame for us being weak?
Fox news for portraying us that way, OR

The Dem Leadership for not doing what's necessary to build a progressive news network that can counterattack?

Fox can be blamed for making the attack, but we must accept blame for not having a decent defense.

18. don't forget dec12/00 or 911/01
if we had a hugo chavez, much of this wouldn't have gone down the way it seems to have gone down; remember the dates above and also the crash of flight 587 on nov10th/01 (the day the NORC results, whicxh proved algore won the election, were published, on the back page!) or the day Senator Wellstone's plane crashed, combine this with literally piles of thing that weren't reported by the pigmedia, and you get the idea that maybe the usa has been conquered, by the communists, who abandoned the old USSR in 1990 and began plotting to grab the brass ring, aka the USA, using the insane corruption of the rightwing loonies, and such frontman bozos as george dubia bush ....remember, william kristol, horowitz, wolfowitz, richard perle, podhoertz, peretz and norquist etc ie the neocon brain trust, were all once hard core communists (david horowitz's 'ramparts magazine' was the magazine of the 'new' left back in the early 70's)...rupert murdock and richard mellon scaife and the smiths etc are great allies to the commies (who have helped make israel greatest power in the mideast- and a country who's fate the USA is going to look out for, whether she wants to or not!) because their racism is so easily exploited ....khruschev once said the the west ie the capitalists, will be hanged with the rope they sell to the communists, and guess what

4. the idea that Dems are weak is a GOP talking point
Watch their spinners. They push the "disarray" mantra at every opportunity. Even if Dems are weaker than we'd like, we need to push back on the point. Don't let them drive the frame. Turn it around on them.

hands.

5. I disagree - Dems should sit back and watch.
If we get involved - the Freeper Press will just report on what the Dems say and whether it was unfair and if it was partisan and have polls like "Do you agree with .." over and over until we puke.

Unless they remain completely silent, the Dem's response will become the story and the Media will report on it exclusively, ignoring the original crime, until the story seems so trivial and ugly that most Americans will lose interest and the criminal Rethugs will get a "get out of jail free" pass. I've seen it so much I could work for MSNBC myself. If the Dems get involved we will just give the Rethugs a common enemy to rally around. And we know how much they love their common enemies: Communists, Osama, Saddam, Gays, etc.

We should silently let them destroy themselves, force the media to report the REAL story, let the ugly truth come out in a fair trial, then come in to pick up the pieces. That's my opinion anyway.

Grab a bag of popcorn and watch the show.

9. Yeah we've sat back and watched them self destruct
since 1994 and that nuanced jui-jitsu oh-so-clever strategy has played out so very well as my youngest went from being 2 to being 14.

11. dems
The Dems have done a careful but nonetheless good job in bringing this administration's excesses to light. They will seem a good alternative to Bush's war, corruption, lawlessness and spending.

17. That's where you are wrong.
Just because the answer to the question "Which party represents the lesser of two evils?" has changed for much of the public DOES NOT in any way make the dems a "good alternative" in the publics mind. Rather, the dems are the ONLY alternative.

So, while the dems might benefit from Republican errors, that success cannot be attributed to the dems. It is the difference between voting FOR the democrats and their agenda and voting AGAINST the
Republicans and theirs. The dems might take power, but they have no mandate, except to not repeat the corruption of the Republicans.

12. Dems are framed either as "whiners" or "spineless"
these days. We must find a better description, like rabid dogs, or something that truly reflects our disgust with the Bush Mafia!

19. Stupid cartoon, political naif of a poster
The Democratic response has been perfect. Let people make their own judgements about Republicans. Let them decide for themselves to come over to us. Above all, don't make any statements that would let the media claim we're as bad as they are.

Or to quote Napolean: "Never interrupt your enemy when he is making a mistake."
