BBC shies away from Bush story
BBC programme editors turned lukewarm on a claim by a BBC2 programme that George Bush believed God told him to invade Iraq and Afghanistan after a strong denial by the White House.
Just 24 hours after accusations that the corporation's news coverage was backing away from risk-taking, some of the BBC's key outlets decided not to run an exclusive story unearthed by BBC2 about the US president.

5. it is two years, and the orginal story was posted here
and on buzzflash and elsewhere on the lefty blogs.

why some intrepid bbc reporter decided to resurrect is unclear but a hopeful sign.
However, isn't it fascinating the quick and aggressive denials by McClennan? Bush inc are cognitive that those independents that they are desperately trying to court back into their camp will never follow anyone who claims "God told me..."

8. Too late *g* The news that they WOULD bring it has been printed everywhere
But you see: When the Bushistas are displeased they can influence the media even in Europe... For that I hate them most, I think. Well, most after Fallujah.

Remember Fallujah

9. Shouldn't the fact the president of the US is psychotic be newsworthy?
I feel like I live in upside down world. Nothing important matters, the press prints only nonsense.

10. This story originally came out in The Haaretz, an Israeli paper
Edited on Fri Oct-07-05 06:27 PM by Emillereid
at the time of the Bush - Palestinian meetings. They reported back in 2003 that Bush said that God ordered him to go to war, etc.

Check out the story:
