Cheney Defends Accidental Bombing Of Smurf Village

WASHINGTON — The United States must be prepared to do whatever it takes to win the War on Terror, even if it means accidentally bombing “a few Smurfs every now and then,” Vice President Dick Cheney said Wednesday.

"Like other great duties in history, the War on Terror will require decades of ‘letting it slide’ whenever we happen to accidentally bomb a few Smurfs,” said Cheney. “And while we will grieve for every innocent Smurf lost along the way, we must never forget to forgive ourselves for our mistakes, for we have the best of intentions, namely, bombing terrorists.”

The USAF bombing run that resulted in the deaths of over 274 Smurfs, including 542-year-old Papa Smurf himself, took place...http://www.bsnews.org/articles/74.

1. That was really good, appropriate.

Just a little critique though:
Part of the humor depends on whether or not the words you choose sound like they would come out of the mouth of the person you are satirizing.

I don't think Cheney would ever say anything remotely like:
"we must never forget to forgive ourselves for our mistakes"

Cheney's character is 100% stubborn, arrogant strength even in the face of adversity. You poke fun at his "strength" by exposing the flaws of his strength. I have no idea how to do that though, as I'm not a very good writer, just a reader!

That's the only constructive criticism I have. The rest of it is spot on! Funny stuff.:woohoo:

2. Thanks!
thanks! I try.

You're so right. I should know better, it's just that I always want to put truth into it, and have them say those 'things that they would never say but its what they think.'

3. I kinda liked this one:
Bush Sets Up Lemonade Stand On White House Lawn

Despite the President's enthusiasm, lemonade sales
have been extremely slow so far.

WASHINGTON, D.C.. – In a nationally televised press
conference held Tuesday, President Bush announced that
he has set up a lemonade stand on the White House's
front lawn in the hopes of raising enough money to pay
for rebuilding the South, Iraq, and, if there is
enough ‘scratch’ left over, Social Security.

Bush said he set the lemonade stand up all by himself
over the weekend, after seeing a story on Fox News
about a little girl from South Dakota who had done the
same thing.

“And I thought, gee whiz! What a great idea!” said
Bush, who immediately went to Wal-Mart and used the
presidential credit card to buy approximately $370
dollars worth of lemonade stand materials. The stand,
which the president reportedly spent 7 hours making,
consists of a fold-out table, a red and white
checkered table cloth, a couple of wooden planks, and
a poster board ‘Lemonade’ sign.
