Astros vs.Sox is more than baseball!
Astros vs. White Sox is more than baseball.>>

In 1937 in the city of Chicago, 2 boxers fought for the Heavyweight crown. It was more than a fight. A black man named Joe Louis fought the white boxer James J. Braddock. Joe Louis was the symbolic warrior of Black Liberation fighting against white racism. Though it was just symbolic, it was a catharsis for the Afro-American masses. Sports supersede athletics. Sure it's contest between 2 teams or individuals but it about reputation. This may be wrong, but that is the way it is. Just like music!
Now we come the World Series in Baseball between 2 underdog teams. The Houston Astros never been to the World Series and the White Sox hasn't been to the series since 1959. Now dig the symbolism man! You got one team that symbolizes the poor on the south side of Chicago. Hip Hop fans in the ghetto wear the White Sox outfit. Gang bangers wear it too. They are the people's team. The Astros on the other hand represent Texas, big oil, rich Republicans, and white racism. Their stadium use to be called Enron Stadium for fuck shakes. I know it's more a metaphor than symbolism. Baseball has become this mega- corporate commodity. But no matter what you think about professional sports, the fact remains that the common person can't stop watching it. Why? Because it's fun! Sports represents life it self. You got the ups with the downs. You got the goals, the hopes, and the dreams of ones self. One could adopt an athlete or a team and use them for their alter ego. So I vicarious misuse baseball and play out these political dramas. The Astros represent to me; Bush and the Neo-Cons and The White Sox represents the people. Crazy aint it?

2. No...
The White Sox to me represent the THROWING of the 1919 World Series. "Will sell my soul for money" sounds a lot like Repubs to me.

6. that's not what happened

Organized crime had a lot of power in those days.

You didn't cross them.

That doesn't stop people from refusing to check the facts and just assuming that the most vulnerable were guilty.

8. Oh Poor Baby!
The Repug Empire has a lot of power these days too. Does that make acts of corruption taking place now ok because of it? Apparently you shouldn't cross the White House either. Ask Joe Wilson.

As for checking facts...did they or did they not throw the world series? It doesn't matter the motives, it still happened. Try Again.

11. Were they or were they not aquitted of fixing the Series?
Yes, they were. 'Nuf said. Almost.

The "Black Sox" happened 80+ years ago. Almost no one alive remembers it first hand. Everyone involved in it is dead. Please pose a more relevant argument.

4. The Sox must win because the Card's are still the best team
We lost by a fluke and we were beaten by half a team. So I want the White Sox to win the WS.

5. Fluke? What fluke? Losing in 6 games is no fluke. If anything, not
losing in 5 games was the fluke. I wanted the Cards to win too but that was no fluke. They flat out lost to better pitching.
