1. The next to last one is being published on Sunday Op-Ed page
... for the Lufkin Daily News, a Cox News Organizaton paper, the largest paper from Houston to Tyler, from Fort Worth to Beaumont.

They've used one other Neil Lisst as their daily political cartoon, so this is the second time.

7. that caricature is the only thing I'VE drawn in the cartoon
Edited on Sat Nov-19-05 02:35 PM by Neil Lisst
My drawing skills are limited, but that little guy is all mine!

I call him "Shorty Bush." To me, it encapsulates Dubya - all hat, and big head, no substance. Imagine Bush with all the crap squeezed out of him, and you'll see my inspiration for that. What would be left?

A hat, a head, a belt buckle that said TEXAS, and pair of cowboy boots that had never seen cow shit. Voila! Meet Shorty Bush.

8. You are very talented, don't sell yourself short.
Your portrayal of the boyking couldn't be more accurate - you've even mangaged to capture that nasty, arrogant smirk. Keep up the good work.

3. Thanks. I've written another Jeopardy for next week.
I sit down on Friday and try to forecast the top talk items for the political world for the coming week.

Next week, we have three days that lead up to Thanksgiving, Thanksgiving, and the day after Thanksgiving. I want to do two serious topics on 2 of the 3 days M,T,W. And I want to do something kind of silly one of those days.

So, I have written two serious ones. The first will be about the Murtha v. Bush, Cheney matter. The second one will be about the Woodward/Bush matters as they relate to Plamegate. I see those as the lead talk issues until Thanksgiving.

The shadowy character is our protagonist, 24 year old writer Neil Lisst, a reclusive, sardonic commentator of politics and Americana.

We never see his eyes in any drawing, which is my way of making what he says the focal point of him.

11. The Bear cartoon was published on an Op Ed page today!!
Yaaaaaay.

I wish I could see it, but it will be a couple of days before I get the print version of the paper, and the online version doesn't carry their editorial page cartoon.

The Bear cartoon is the 5th of the 6 I list in the first post.
