<snip>
He has taken the country into an unwinnable war and alienated friend and foe alike in the process;

He is bankrupting the country with a combination of aggressive military spending and reduced taxation of the rich;

He has deliberately and dangerously attacked separation of church and state;

He has repeatedly "misled," to use a kind word, the American people on affairs domestic and foreign;

1. This is too good, the MSM finally is getting it! K&R
He has proved to be incompetent in affairs domestic (New Orleans) and foreign ( Iraq and the battle against al-Qaida);

He has sacrificed American employment (including the toleration of pension and benefit elimination) to increase overall productivity;

He is ignorantly hostile to science and technological progress;

He has tolerated or ignored one of the republic's oldest problems, corporate cheating in supplying the military in wartime.

3. Pretty scathing, but I actually thought Franklin Pierce, Dubya's
ancestor on his momma's side, was worse than Buchanan.

The apple does not fall far from the tree!

6. "ignorantly hostile"
An excellent juxtaposition that describes Bush's attitude toward just about anything decent or rational.

14. nah, not too early
The article states, "It is, of course, too early to evaluate a president."

I think not. If bush is anything, he is definitively, convincingly bad.

Note the end of the article, too. Very funny.

15. PLUS - He never actually won an election!
Pretty soon people will start looking into these elections to absolve the American People of any responsibility for Bush's horrible deeds.

I mean with all the deception we are learning about -- election fraud doesn't seem so far fetched anymore.

Lyn Davis Lear: Paging Frank Rich! GAO confirms - 2004 Election Was Stolen
Thu Dec 1, 1:35 PM ET

The Government Accountability Office is the only government office we have left that is ethical, non-partisan and incorruptible. They investigate and tell it like it is. Thank God for them. This report is very serious and must get more attention. It has taken years for the mainstream press and Congress to finally understand what we in the blogisphere have known since 2000. This administration will distort and cheat about anything and everything to get its way. If this report got the attention it deserves and broke through the static of our 500-channel universe, it could be the coup de grace of the Bush White House.

Powerful Government Accountability Office report confirms key 2004 stolen election findings by Bob Fitrakis & Harvey Wasserman October 26, 2005

As a legal noose appears to be tightening around the Bush/Cheney/Rove inner circle, a shocking government report shows the floor under the legitimacy of their alleged election to the White House is crumbling.

The latest critical confirmation of key indicators that the election of 2004 was stolen comes in an extremely powerful, penetrating report from the Government Accountability Office that has gotten virtually no mainstream media coverage.

The government's lead investigative agency is known for its general incorruptibility and its thorough, in-depth analyses. Its concurrence with assertions widely dismissed as "conspiracy theories" adds crucial new weight to the case that Team Bush has no legitimate business being in the White House.

24. Even to ask that question would sound very dumb to any
European. And I've always thought Europeans tended to underestimate Americans. What short memories the questioner and some of those historians must have! Remember the debates?

27. Every time I've traveled to Europe or Australia since 9/11, the first
thing I've usually had to say in general conversation is "I didn't vote for him!!" to show that I wasn't an Idiot American, and that I got what most Europeans got, too. In fact, at the pubs, I was usually the one leading the anti-Bush conversations.

28. You could just about understand it from apolitical people,
Edited on Mon Dec-05-05 12:49 PM by KCabotDullesMarxIII
but this guy's a very worldly-wise journalist, so you have to wonder about his integrity, and whether the question is itself a damage-limitation meme, don't you? As if there were any question.

The new Repug talking point, "Bush is actually SMART" would seem to confirm as much. They are clearly disturbed by the commonly-held, shall we say, "negative assessment" of his mental aptitude.

Big Defense, Big Pharm, Big Oil, PNAC; if there was ever a time where they swam in more loot, I'm all ears.
