The newspaper's in-depth look at the generator-purchasing program found that for Hurricane Wilma alone, the program reimbursed 101,028 people in 13 Florida counties a total of $84 million for generators.

One of them included William Massey, a Fort Lauderdale builder who filed a claim for a generator he used to keep his wine collection chilled. "I seek it because it's there," Massey told the newspaper ...

.. the Sun-Sentinel found nearly a dozen people who said they were reimbursed more from FEMA than they paid. The newspaper also reported that from FEMA's general records (it will not release the names of individual recipients), it appeared that 99 percent of the reimbursements were for more than the purchase price ...

The poor people, the people who really needed assistance to buy a generator, did not have the money saved to buy it in the first place. It was only the people who had $800 laying around that capitalized on that. I can't wait until Jeb leaves.
