Great Ed. by Bob Shrum Re: Ports Deal, how really weird it has become...
with the Administration, who ever that is according to them claiming Bush and Rummy kept in the dark about the whole deal, but trust them it is very safe for America to allow it to happen. Here is the link, it is well written: < http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/11116759/#060223a >. Mr. Shrum explains all much better than I could ever do. Check it out if you have a few minutes to do so. ...Oscar

1. Thanks, Oscar.
Just waiting for that next wave.

And wondering which one is finally going to swamp this bunch.

2. Hi Tom, It is a great editorial that brings together so much of what...
is happening and is likely to happen. For the first time since the last Presidential election I feel some real hope for our Nation and the World. BUSHCO is going down and it is happening rather fast. ... Oscar

3. Hey Oscar, ain't it funny that you can post such a thoughtful article
on DU and only you and I read/replied to it?

Maybe your subject line should read:

OH MY GOD!!!! WTF??!! MUST READ!!!!

Posted by one of us with 1000+ posts.

Keep up the good work.

I see absolutely brilliant posts that sink faster than Natalie Wood (I am probably going to hell for that).

Just the way it is.

Tom

4. Thanks Tom. What can I say. So many important postings do sink...
faster than "Natalie wood"or go down faster than Senator Wellstone and his Family and friends. Thank you for your kind reply Tom. It is people like you who do keep me going. I have no friends other than those like you that I find in the DU forums. I used to live in Boston and had many. I can no longer afford to and live in " the country ". It`s not all it is cracked up to be. Housing is cheap if you look hard enough. ...Oscar

8. That is a great article ~ 'we are entering the long goodbye to the Bush
presidency!' Paraphrased, but I really hope he is right, and that it doesn't take too long, lives are at stake!

I especially liked this line ~

The port issue is the latest symbol of the collapsing Presidency of George Bush. Once the process begins, it doesn’t stop ...

I did think the process started nearly three years ago when he lied in his SOTU address ~ and again, when there no WMDs, or the torture pictures, the outing of Valerie Plame, the Spies in the Pentagon, the Halliburton reports of corruption, the deteriorating situation in Iraq, and in Afghanistan ~ the abandonment of the search for Osama Bin Laden, the cruel cuts in his immoral budgets, the news that he paid propagandists to push his agenda, his Social Security failure, the nomination of Harriet Myers ~ the Forged Niger Documents scandal ~ the Abramoff Affairs and Enron!

Any one of the long list of scandals would have warranted at least some investigations but nothing happened ~ so, while Portgate, and not just the security issue, but the blatant disrespect for laws and the greed, as always, should at least wake up some of the American people, I am afraid to hope. But we can't afford three more years of these crooks ~

9. Good editorial - K & R
I want to believe that we're nearing the end of this terrible time, but I've had my hopes dashed too many times before. It's true that Bush has outlasted his usefulness to the neocons, and they're stuck with him for the next 3 years. But even when he's gone in 2008, he'll just be replaced by another figurehead with a new line of BS.... :(

10. Best Part of This Article:
"Bush can’t even play the old Nixon trick of packing up his troubles in Air Force One and flying off to a foreign trip – to say, Egypt, where Nixon was cheered by millions just before he was forced to resign. Where could Bush go? Unless they put an isolating bubble over his motorcade and kept the crowds off the streets, he’d be engulfed by protests. Because of him, America’s standing in the rest of the world has fallen to an all-time low. Maybe he could try Dubai – or maybe not given that some of the 9/11 hijackers came from there or laundered money there and it was one of only three nations that recognized the Taliban regime in Afghanistan. If Dubai isn’t a safe destination for a Bush visit, then maybe America’s ports aren’t safe in Dubai’s hands. Let’s at least find out by postponing the decision and conducting the 45-day review that already should have happened."

Of course, if Bush went to Dubai, he could just stay there and avoid impeachment, the Hague, and RICO! Just take Dickie Bird, Rummy and Condi with you, and invite Scalia, Thomas, Alito and Roberts.

You know what they say: ANY PORT IN A STORM!

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
