Faith Hill: 'I Fear for Our Country'
http://people.aol.com/people/articles/0,19736,1171319,00.html

Country-music heavyweights Faith Hill and Tim McGraw let loose with their feelings about the Hurricane Katrina cleanup effort Wednesday, calling the slow-going work "embarrassing" and "humiliating," ABC News reports.

"It is a huge, huge problem and it's embarrassing," Hill said. "I fear for our country if we can't handle our people (during) a natural disaster."

McGraw singled out President Bush directly, wondering aloud why the leader of the free world can't hold someone accountable for the cleanup.

1. I'm surprised
I thought that most mainstream country artists supported Bush (except Dixie Chicks).

2. Nope, Faith Hill and her husband (Tim McGraw)
Were the only current mainstream artists to speak up for the Chicks. Thus, they are the ONLY Country people I listen to any more... and I used to listen to alot.

5. I listen to alternative country partly for those same
political reasons. Jay Farrar/Son Volt has a good message. I'll listen to Tim Mcgraw and Faith Hill a little differently now.

15. Actually - I saw a bio of Tim McGraw. He was Tug McGraw's

illigitimate son and his mother had him on her own. When Tim McGraw was a teen - he got on a bus and visited his father un-announced and asked that he help at least support his education. Then they reconciled. I'm not surprised they are Democrats. His mother never asked for any help - even while Tug was a famous & wealthy ball player.

9. Scarborough tried to say the Dixie Chicks lost their whole music career
Edited on Sat Mar-11-06 02:10 AM by Maraya1969
because of the statement they made in some other country - about being embarrassed about being an American.

Does anyone if there is any truth to this? Bands come and go and I hate to think their fans would have completely left them because of that.

EDIT: They are coming out with a new album in May. It is supposed to be very political. You go girls!!!

13. "I fear for our country" because RED STATE America is stupid enough
Edited on Sat Mar-11-06 10:41 AM by file83
to vote for this idiot, Bush. "I fear for our country" because those SAME STUPID PEOPLE are going to vote again in 2006, 2008, etc...

All I can hope for is that they will listen to Faith Hill and Tim McGraw (Democrats).

"I fear for our country" because the RED STATERS only jump on the "anti-Bush" band wagon after he's driven us all over a cliff.

You see, country cowboy music fans, you have to grab the horse by the reins BEFORE you let it get out of control. This requires the ability to judge the nature of the horse as well. We tried to warn you he was a wild, unstable horse, but you wouldn't listen. You strapped him up to the wagon, yelled "Gidy UP!", let go of the reins and went to sleep. We were bouncing around in the back of the wagon SCREAMING at you to wake up before it was too late.

Now 2300+ Americans are dead for bullshit.

Well, I just hope the next time it's us that decide on the horse and it's us that have a hold of the reins, assuming this cliff isn't an abyss. You guys are fired.

14. I love that line from Walk the LIne when Johnny Cash says that
his fans are not Christians if they would be upset if he played at Folsom Prison. Right on!
