Appeals court OKs ‘Choose Life’ plates in Tenn.
Judge says ‘one-sidedness’ of message doesn't violate First Amendment

Updated: 12:30 p.m. ET March 17, 2006
NASHVILLE, Tenn. - A federal appeals court Friday allowed Tennessee to offer anti-abortion license plates bearing the message “Choose Life.”

The American Civil Liberties Union of Tennessee previously won a ruling from a lower court that said the tag illegally promoted only one side of the abortion debate.

“Although this exercise of government one-sidedness with respect to a very contentious political issue may be ill-advised, we are unable to conclude that the Tennessee statute contravenes the First Amendment,” Judge John M. Rogers said in a 2-1 ruling by a three-judge panel of the 6th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Cincinnati.

4. What's next? The "Stuck with a coat hanger" plate???
...Abortion rights proponents complained the state does not offer those with other political views a similar way to express them. An attempt to create a “Choose Choice” tag failed in the Legislature in 2002....

How long before this heads to the Supremes???

6. Why are they being so up and up on the subject ?
The state should permit license plates which state Kill Fags. That would make "christians" happy and that's all the fuck knuckle head state legislators live for; to kiss the asses of their handlers.

How bout, "Join us in Hating in the Name of Jesus Christ."

"Fags not welcome in Tennnessee"

"Blow up Abortion Clinics"

Don't hide behind license plates, christians, be proud of your beliefs and where them on your car.

11. I seriously do not know how these people
exist. There lives are based solely on hate. They are totally ignorant of the concept of constitutional liberty. Every law or amendment they propose would have no effect on them. They are extremely pitiful beings but get zero sympathy from me. And they want to fuck with my constitution. Nothing riles me more.

8. Oh, I choose Life,
for the ALREADY BORN; soldiers in Iraq, Seniors on fixed incomes, the Poor, children w/o medical insurance, middle income families struggling to pay increased costs, the mentally challenged whose programs are being cut, etc., etc.

How about the already born and LIVING?????? Useless unless RICH, or as potential cannon fodder for this administration?

Take that from someone who HAS given birth, Fundies.
