Back from Iraq, Rep. Katherine Harris tips the media to the real story

The news media are wrong to be focusing on all the death and destruction.

So said Congresswoman Katherine Harris, while back in Sarasota briefly after her trip to Iraq.

Parroting what the White House has been saying, Harris said news accounts have been ignoring the positive developments in Iraq, like drinking water, electricity and schools.

Harris did mention that despite all the security experts protecting her party, she wasn't at ease when her car became mired in a traffic jam.

"We were sitting ducks," Harris said.

She had to sit in traffic and everything.

I wonder if she sees the glaring contradiction coming out of the two sides of her mouth: I was really scared, I was a sitting duck, but we need to concentrate on the positive.

Not for the first time, I declare Katherine Harris a despicable and loathsome human specimen.

schools that exist but are closed because of security issues (people are to afraid to send their kids to school!) so the only thing they have is electricity. Letting her speak to the situation in Iraq is pretty hilarious if you ask me.

The news media isn't wrong in focusing on death and destruction, they are wrong to listen to anything she has to say.

8. and of course, the economic sactctions restricted things like..

chlorine from being imported into Iraq, due to it's 'dual use' of both chemical weapons AND purifying water

they would have you believe no Iraqi has ever attended school or seen a doctor the entire time Saddam has been in charge
