Bush Vs. His Mideast Message
"If they want to export democracy through wars, we do not want it. Let them keep it to themselves."

In calling for more democracy in the Middle East, President Bush echoed what many Arabs have said for years. But with Mr. Bush as the messenger, many were skeptical that the United States would push for real change in the region's autocratic rule.

The speech Thursday in Washington, televised throughout the Arab world, also provoked resentment since many Arabs believe the U.S. government manufactured reasons to wage war on Iraq and regularly sides unfairly with Israel in its conflict with the Palestinians.

In its Friday edition, a signed editorial in the leading Lebanese daily An-Nahar described the speech as "very attractive words" but said that "before they become tangible policies that deal with the real problems, they will continue to be boring, empty rhetoric."

You all are being fooled if you think the Philippines has Democracy! Look what money buys in the US. For 1/100000000 of that you can buy an entire nation's election, as Ramos and the Carlyle Group does in the PI. Spend 2/100000000 and you own both candidates.

You call Russia and Putin Democracy? Disgusting!

Pakistan Junta General who made himseft King, Musharaff, is Democracy? The Coup General the entire world condemned until he Bush brought him into the Bush Crime Family and into our White House and sleep in the Lincoln Bedroom? Disgusting!

The United States/Bush Crime Family is pushing the world into kaos!

1. disusting but entertaining
It is still clever propoganda the administration can point to when critisized for exporting pre emptive wars.
Perhaps it is even more clever than accusing one's opposition of the very crimes you committed yourself.

Shocking and awing as it is, it makes for riveting entertainment
like watching the Sopranos.
No matter how ruthless and evil Tony can be,
we know he is just taking care of his own.
With a vicarious thrill we virtually forgive them of their crimes
and wait to see the next episode.

In the ruthless Trillion dollar petro war games of the radical corporate right,
they will not hesitate to kill their own
and then turn around and martyr their fallen brother
blaming it on a conveinient enemy (with resources to steal).

So with mixed feeling I wish George well.
For if he is ever martyred...
the next boss and subsequent crack down could only be worse.

In America it often seems that more people root for the Sopranos, than the prosecutor.

2. To Bush, "democracy" = willingness to kiss his butt
In reaction to the speech, one Arab diplomat said, ``His treatment of the various governments reflects their policy towards the United States. The more you applaud him, the more democratic you are. It's transparent and it's ridiculous.''

More here.
