U.S. Congress pulls the shades on the House of Death
Edited on Mon May-08-06 11:23 AM by calipendence
An article today that is documenting how a key figure in the "House of Death" Mexico druglord torturing scandal is being covered up by appointing the former DOJ attorney Robin Ashton, who's tried to whitewash this scandal in light of whistelblower Sandalio Gonzalez's firing after trying to come forward to point out the U.S.'s complicity in informants being involved in this torture and murder and how it was putting U.S. agents at risk, etc. Senator Grassley's office, that had organized the November 21st briefing, appears to have some similar efforts to stonewall action here, according to this report from Narcosphere.

Sibel Edmonds and the NSWBC have been involved in helping out Sandalio Gonzalez in his efforts as a whistleblower on this issue since at least September of last year, when she put forth an article that she and the NSWBC were looking into these issues. She's now expression frustration with both Grassley's and Leahy's offices on this topic as noted in this article. Ironically it was these same two senators that have in the past served to help her in her efforts to try and testify about her knowledge of 9/11 problems that have still been covered up through State Secrets privilege rulings, etc.

Here's the article late yesteray on this from Narcosphere:

U.S. Congress pulls the shades on the House of Death

The staffs of U.S. senators Charles Grassley, R-Iowa, and Patrick Leahy, D-Vt., appear to be drinking the cool-aid mixed up in the House of Death by the departments of Justice (DOJ) and Homeland Security (DHS).

Staff members from both offices were briefed last November about the details of the mass murder in Ciudad Juárez, the participation of a U.S. government informant in those murders and the subsequent cover-up carried out by the Executive Branch agencies involved in the House of Death case — including DHS’ U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and the U.S. Attorney’s Office in San Antonio and El Paso.

The senators’ staffs also were told about the fact that a DEA agent and his family were nearly murdered as a result of the bungled drug-sting operation and that one of the narco-thugs working with the informant, another Mexican cop by the name of Miguel Loya, was allowed to escape as a direct result of the cover-up within DOJ and DHS.

To date, according to the three members of the National Security Whistleblowers Coalition (NSWBC) who provided the briefing, neither of the senators, or their staffs, have even bothered to contact the NSWBC members for additional follow-up information or documentation.

“They have done nothing; zilch; '0',” says , the founder and director of the NSWBC. “I made many follow up calls: still nothing; this is outrageous.”

Here is an earlier article from September of last year where Sibel Edmonds, Sandalio Gonzalez, and the NSWBC first brought up this issue:

Insourcing Torture
The government's latest reprisal against a respected employee in the security field has been publicized by Sibel Edmonds'new whistleblowers' coalition, the NSWBC. It discusses the case of one Sandalio Gonzalez, former DEA Special Agent in charge in El Paso, Texas.

According to the press release, this well-liked, thirty-three year veteran of law enforcement was 'forced into retirement' when he reported concerns that

"...the United States Attorney’s Office for the Western District of Texas, along with federal law enforcement agents, supported and protected a confidential informant who they knew had 'supervised' torture and murder of people, and who they knew would engage in similar activity in the future. After discovering that the informant murdered at least one person, law enforcement agents and the U.S. Attorney’s Office allegedly stood by as he participated in, and aided and abetted numerous other killings. The actions alleged by Mr. Gonzalez also placed United States agents in Mexico at risk and resulted in the near abduction and murders of a DEA agent and his family in Ciudad Juárez, Mexico."

For all the talk this past year about the US 'outsourcing' torture to third-world countries and banana republics where normal rules do not apply and where things can be done quietly and efficiently, it's gratifying to know that the practice can still be enjoyed at home. And it's nice to see that the practice of endangering the lives of security staff, as Plame-gate and Ms. Edmonds' own case have evidenced, is also still going on.

1. Nothing is too dirty or too hypocritical for this administration.
