Bill O'Reilly says "Hate will cost Dems"

<SNIP>
"Thus, Mr. Bush is adopting the Muhammed Ali technique of rope-a-dope. He is laying back, letting the frenzied opposition flail away, knowing it will eventually exhaust itself and collapse in a heap. Most Americans are not ideologues and will soon find the fanatics tiresome.

<snip>
What about the hatred that dragged the country through almost 2 years of proceedings because of Clinton wanting to keep an illicit fling a secret? Most Americans AREN'T idealogues. Just the ones that take O'Reilly seriously.

What an asshole.

1. Personally,
Personally, I think they're all scared. They're trying to take the wind out of our sails. They know there's all kinds of fury out there because of Bush's policies. Some of it from quarters that normally support republicans, such as military families and small business people.

IOW, this sort of crap is like the proverbial whisling past the graveyard.

2. Bill O'Reilly should taste his own medicine.
This isn't rope-a-dope, there is a genuine outrage at this administration. O'Reilly and his ilk should prepare to face the whirlwind.

3. This is the Riech Wing's new tactic: point out lib "hate", but
But read the "Hate vs Anger" article. We don't HATE, as much as we're ANGRY.

And anger is good.

4. All these dolts, I think, get their 'talking points' from the White House
...every morning.

I have had several people tell me this, and heard rumors of a story that reported this as fact.
has anyone got anything to substantiate this?...

6. Morning memo
A former staffer at Faux said Roger Ailes issues a memo every morning with talking points. Maybe that's what you're referring to.

Maybe someone here can find a link.

But it appears clear that those are the marching orders, repeat the hate meme. Methinks it might backfire.

O'Reilly, Limbaugh, Hannity have made careers out of it.

8. Sadly, hate will always sell to America.
That's why rightwing hate radio is so popular and powerful. It sells advertisers because they perceive it appeals to their clientele.

If that doesn't just suck, I don't know what does.

9. Nice Catch!
When Republicans warn that anger and hate are destructive forces, that's a good clue that the opposition needs to stoke the fire! Keep in mind that no one harnesses hatred better than Republicans do. They trashed opponents and their supporters during Campaigns 2002 and 2003, possibly even murdering Paul Wellstone - and certainly exploiting the emotions that followed.

I refuse to fall for the insipid line that there's some magic boundary between anger and hate - a line that we dare not cross lest we lose respect, and perhaps the election.

The Clinton bashers' hatred was based on lies, which makes it irrational. Bush hatred is based on truth, which makes it righteous.

I refuse to hold hands with the peaceniks who value their phony civility more than they do children, democracy or the environment. These idiots can't even reform their own local school boards! I'm proud to say that I passionately hate George W. Bush, everything he stands for and everyone who supports him. If I could be dictator for a day, they would enjoy a very unpleasant fate.

24. It's Hard To Look Sane
when you are hopping mad. No matter how righteous or indignant your cause, people will write you off as crazy.

The GOP , while full of hate, delivers it with a smile or calm resolve. Biff is secretly a loose cannon and prone to raving, but they keep his true nature in deep cover most of the time.

While liberals love and appreciate a good rant, they still desire a leader that shows calm resolve. Or as I am prone to wonder as I listen to the candidates "Yeah, yeah, so what are we going to DO about it?"

Peace,
Teresa

10. In O'Reilly's world everything to the left of Joe Lieberman is
the "far left" but I've yet to ever see him acknowledge that there might even be a "far right".

He also seems to be getting more and more hysterical by the day.

21. Amen to that.
O'Reilly is rapidly becoming ridiculous -- paranoid, unstable, unpredictable. He reminds me of the scary neighbor nearly everyone has and whose yard the neighborhood kids are urged to avoid.

He can't last.

11. Oh My Gosh, my Golly
Hate George*..??? Why certainly not. That wouldn't be Christian, now would it??? I say don't hate the person, but hate the sin. And God knows ole Shrub has more than enough sins to keep us busy hating for years and years.
So, there, Mr O'Really, is an example of controlled anger and postive hate. Are you happy now? Good, cause I think I need to vomit.

A guest of his (in the midst of the discussion)says "isnt the the motto of your show 'you decide'?" to which Billy says "Yes! And i have decided you are wrong"! or something to that effect. In other words, "I have decided what my viewers should think so stop before i tell you to SHUT UP SHUT UP!!

The man is just sad. Can someone please explain to him that yelling over a guest whose microphone got turned off by a lackey is NOT the definition of winning an argument.

22. Man, the pubbies are setting themselves up on this one.
They are incredibly hate filled. There is no way they will be able to keep it in. This gay marriage thing alone is going to be turning some of them purple. But they can't let it out because that would be "not OK."

the anger that halft this country feels towards dubya isn't going away. And the anger are more likely to vote than the swing voters/moderate conservatives in this election becuase they just may buy all that bull faux is feeding them about bush being unbeatable.

I hope they get a BIG surprize on election night...
