Orange County (CA) Register: Bush-Cheney-Snow attack on a free press conti
June 26, 2006
Bush-Cheney-Snow attack on a free press continues

By John Seiler

Tyrant's always use "national security" as an excuse for destroying liberty. That's happening again as the Bush-Cheney-Snow regime attacks newspapers for revealing the regime's assault on financial data security. AP reported of Bush:

"The disclosure of this program is disgraceful," he said.

(snip)

But it's the Bush regime that's a disgrace, spying on innocent people's financial data without due process and otherwise acting like Stalin in 1936.

Minister of Propaganda Tony Snow said:

The New York Times and other news organizations ought to think long and hard about whether a public's right to know in some cases might override somebody's right to live.

Actually, our lives depend on our right to know, and to be free. This whole rotten Bush regime is goose-steeping America toward fascism.

Yes, THAT Orange County. One, if not THE, most conservative counties in the country, home of the generous fund events for Republican candidates from across the country. Home of Richard Nixon (who, by today's standard would be considered a flaming liberal), the Minutemen, and other right wing nuts.

But then, the OCR has always pride itself as being a libertarian, has opposed the Iraq war from day one and, of course, is mad at the Bush not-so-small government..

1. OC -behind the orange curtain!
OC - also home of voter registration scamming by a republican-paid operative.

I read the 'Local' section of the Register every morning--that's where the LTTE and opinions, editorials and such are ---most mornings I want to :puke: :puke: :puke: but every once in a while someone comes up with something good....that was a good one! ;>)

3. If you have elections run on TRADE SECRET, PROPRIETARY programming
code, owned and controlled by Bushite (or any) corporations, in gobble-de-gook-ridden electronic voting systems, with virtually no audit/recount controls, what do you expect? Non-transparent elections = tyranny. That's what we have.

Citizens of Orange County--and all U.S. counties--should take their pitchforks down to their boards of election and country registrars' offices and DEMAND TRANSPARENT VOTE COUNTING! Without transparent elections--in which the vote counting can be SEEN and UNDERSTOOD by everyone--we might as well be shouting to the wind.
