Meet John Hagee: A Texas Preacher Leads Campaign To Let Israel Fight

A Texas Preacher Leads Campaign To Let Israel Fight
Mr. Hagee Draws Evangelicals By Arguing Jewish State Fulfills Biblical Prophecy
'End of World as We Know It'
By ANDREW HIGGINS
July 27, 2006; Page A1

Last week, as Israel's armed forces pounded Lebanon and worries of a wider conflagration mounted, Mr. Hagee presided over what he called a "miracle of God": a gathering of 3,500 evangelical Christians packed into a Washington hotel to cheer Israel and its current military campaign.

....President Bush sent a message to the gathering praising Mr. Hagee and his supporters for "spreading the hope of God's love and the universal gift of freedom." The Israeli prime minister also sent words of thanks. Israel's ambassador, its former military chief and a host of U.S. political heavyweights, mostly Republican, attended.

....The following day, (Hagee)mobilized evangelicals representing all 50 states in a lobbying blitz through the Capitol. Armed with talking points scripted by Mr. Hagee and his staff, they peppered senators and congressmen with arguments for Israel and against its enemies, particularly Iran.

....When addressing Jewish audiences, Mr. Hagee generally avoids talking about Armageddon. But his books, whose titles include "Beginning of the End" and "From Daniel to Doomsday," are filled with death and mayhem. "The battlefield will cover the nation of Israel!" he writes in "Jerusalem Countdown," his recent work, describing a "sea of human blood drained from the veins of those who have followed Satan."

2. John Hagee is a self-righteous swollen prick
He can stand in the pulpit sweating, shaking the bible along with his jowls, jiggling his man boobs and railing against every sin except the one that he so desperately loves: gluttony.

4. But Kerry and Dean et. al. also oppose calling for a cease-fire, and
fully support Israeli actions.

6. That still doesn't remove the label of "prick" from John Hagee
He wants war in the worst way. All so he can have his precious fantasy (prophecy) come true. Of course Jesus ain't coming back, but that won't stop them from turning this world into a burned out cinder in an effort to bring it about.

3. AIPAC is more organized, and much more entrenched in DC
You think kerry or Dean and all the other dems are listening to hagee? No, they are listening to AIPAC and their related groups, and that is why nearly every Democrat (save Kucinich and a handful of others) is opposing calling for a cease-fire now, and towing precisely the same line as Olmert/Bush.

We need to stop aipac. http://www.stopaipac.org

12. Arlen Specter must be thrilled...his Chief of Staff just went to work for
Hagee...in a shocker that was posted here on DU last week. Amazing ties...I wouldn't have thought Specter would be associated by Chief of Staff with an Armageddonist. But, then we know about that "holy alliance" and what it's brought us to these days. Just didn't think that Senators with the stature of Specter would be connected with the "movement."

7. Gore has the same views of Israel, minus the religion.
We can expect that Al Gore also supports any Israeli military action, unconditionally. So is gore just a lighter bag of....?

14. This is the "Wall Street Journal"
This is scaring the hell out of me. When did the financial paper of the US decide to go secular and start ranting about the end of the world. Or as they are insinuating "The Rapture". How much money do they get before we all go? Do they get to take it with them? LOL

15. christians who advocate war
Weird cults presaged the Nazi rise to power and were an important part of its foundation.

The guy is also a hate monger against the Islamic culture.
