Washington Post "Bush the Believer" Cohen
pretty good article...scanned back and didn't see it anywhere.
------------------------------------------------------------

Is George Bush the Iraq war's "useful idiot"?

The phrase was coined by Vladimir Lenin to refer to gullible communist sympathizers who swallowed whole the party line. They believed what they were told, and what they were told was mostly lies.

It could be somewhat the same with Bush. He may well be the last person to believe that the Iraq war was waged virtually in self-defense.

<SNIP>

The evidence is nowhere to be found. No weapons of mass destruction have turned up. An advanced Iraqi nuclear program seems to be, well, not so advanced. The evidence for it is either bogus or so tenuous as to be far from convincing. Ties to al Qaeda -- "bulletproof evidence," in the words of Don Rumsfeld -- have not been proved and never made much sense anyway. Al Qaeda is not well disposed toward secular leaders.

What evidence exists suggests, in fact, that the United States was hankering for a war no matter what. Intelligence -- no matter how fragmentary or inconclusive -- was shaped, molded and goosed until it could be used to prove that Hussein had to be taken out swiftly.

1. And Bush is a good man and good men can be excused right?
"But the president is no liar."

Bush is a liar and if the truth be told the reason why they won't reveal who put in the 16 words is because Bush put in the 16 words.

Everyone is trying their best to assign responsibility for all thats wrong in this corrupt illegal administration to 'anyone' but Bush.

I for one think 9/11 drove Bush insane and he is on the edge of really freaking out on us.

Deal with him carefully or you'll find yourself looking at a mushroom cloud.

3. yep. it's what I was thinking. didn't have the energy
in first linked article post to point out Cohen's brazen whoreishness. Looking at past articles from him...it's a pattern.

The article still had enough great points about this whole subject that I thought it was worthwhile. My feeling is:

regardless of whether people think of Bush as a duped "useful idiot" or a malevolent psychotic bent on world dictatorship...people may get the idea it is best to throw the baby out with the bathwater just in case said baby is the spawn of the devil.

Kick the bums out

fellow ratshit eaters will have you feel sorry for them if they can get away with it. No matter what happens they are still guilty if they try to act stupid.

5. The dumbass defense, great
Bush as Chauncy Gardener. Well, that's what people thought they were voting for the last time around, anyway. He may be dumb but he's honest. Plus we like dumb and we don't like smart. Stupid is good. He's just like us. Not too bright but that doesn't stop him from Getting Things Done.

Pfeh. Too early in the week for despair.

7. My thought after reading it
Cohen is quite a "useful idiot" himself. The Busheviks have lied about damned near EVERYTHING. Literally, more lies than I thought it was possible to get away with (and not possible to get away with unless you are a member of or an ally of the Imperial Family of Amerika).

Reams and reams of evidence regarding policy lies, enforcement lies, and just palin old damned lies...

Yet our Emperor is a man of "honor and integrity".

:puke:

Again I say, the Imperial Subjects of Amerika deserve the future that is waiting to mug them as it mugged Lady Liberty, raped her and left her bleeding to death in the gutter.

8. Excusing with faint damnation
Cohen used the same enabling excuses that defensive family members use for their "slower" cousin. That would be fine, except he's not just the local Forrest Gump of a shoe salesman, he's the frikken President* of the United Sates.

The way I read Cohen's statements, Bush* is either grossly incompetent, or maliciously manipulative. in either case, he should not be occupying the Oval Office, and shold resign immediately or be impeached and booted.
