I'm not going to link to them, I'm too busy canceling my subscription.

1. Yes. This is the straw that
breaks the subscribers' backs. We can't afford to continue giving this paper any financial support.

5. Even though their cartoons are far better than the P.I.'s.
Except for Dilbert.

2. If it's any consolation...
...the Republican is going to lose.

"Washington Senate
For Premium Members Only: Incumbent Maria Cantwell currently has a double-digit lead over opponent Republican Mike McGavick."

4. She has had some great ads against him
When he worked for an insurance company he layed off something like 11,000 people . then he took this huge multimillion dollar bonus, the ads are more devastating than 100 Monicas.

6. Even my elderly M.I.L. dislikes him, which I hope is a good sign.

3. Well, I don't feel bad for not having a subscription then, heh heh
This is shocking. I must say I got a kick out of the ads run against Mcgavick, they really crucify him much to my delight and his response was pathetic. Now if only Cantwell had been against Iraq. there was a great candidate in the primaries who was everything I believed in, anti war, anti corporate, but she didn't have a prayer, of course....

7. Was that endorsement a sop,

for the few conservatives in the Puget Sound? I mean the 25 who listen to KVI and the 26 who listen to KHTH? I guess if they chose the Libertarian candidate, they would get hounded by Michael Medved.(Medved hates the Libertarians, because they took votes from Slade Gorton, that gave Maria Cantwell her victory in the Senate in the first palce.)

8. They admitted that they were influenced by McGavick's position
in favor of complete elimination of the estate tax, though they claimed they had other reasons, too. They have been fighting the estate tax ever since they bought the paper -- it's a family owned paper.

9. In 2000, they (Seattle Times) endorsed Bush over Gore
In 2004, they basically apologized and recanted. (Too late!)

The Oregonian just endorsed Ron Saxton, the Republican candidate for governor, even though his only political experience was on a school board, and he's of the "we can overhaul everything, have money for the schools, AND more tax cuts!" school of thought. Outraged letters to the Oregonian are running roughly 400-4 against the endorsement.

I seriously think that print journalism is becoming more and more right-wing.
