Election Reform or Deform? Dayton, Ohio City Paper

One of the best articles I have seen on electronic voting and covers the issues in Ohio splendedly. Good old fashioned reporting. Long, but worth the read.

This paragraph pretty much sums up my take on the electronic voting fiasco:

Quinn quipped, "If a voting system precludes any notion of a meaningful recount, is cloaked in secrecy and controlled by individuals with conflicts of interest, why would anyone buy it? The only possible motive I can see for disabling some of the security mechanisms and features in their (Diebold’s) system is to be able to rig elections. It is, at best, bad programming; at worst, the system has been designed to rig an election."
