McCain's Popularity 'Tanking' In New Hampshire, Iowa, Nevada...
Edited on Thu Jan-18-07 03:08 PM by aggiesal
For seven years, conventional wisdom has said that the state's pivotal independent voters would line up behind maverick Sen. John McCain, as they did so famously in the 2000 GOP primary. But new polling data, to be released later this week, will suggest that might no longer be the case.

Manchester, N.H.-based American Research Group finds that McCain's popularity among New Hampshire's independent voters has collapsed.

“John McCain is tanking,” says ARG president Dick Bennett. “That’s the big thing . In New Hampshire a year ago he got 49 percent among independent voters. That number’s way down, to 29 percent now.” ...

I heard some Rabid Right Winger--calling herself Conservative :eyes:--this am on the tube saying that McCain was winning BECAUSE of his stance on the war.

13. I'm with you
McCain really sold his soul by hiring Bush's henchmen to propel his campaign. He's renounced his former moderation on social issues and is letting himself get packaged by the fundies as the new great white hope. And, you're right, that man-hug. Ugh. The look on his face. Absolutely sickening. To think that he'd throw away all his dignity and embrace, literally, the guy who unleashed the Swiftboat Liars -- yes, the same guys who were paid to go after Kerry. Back in 2000, when McCain was opposing Bush for the nomination, the Bushies had the Swifties (same guys, funded out of Texas to travel the country, lying) out in full force. They said McCain betrayed his soldiers as a POW. They push polled in North Carolina "If you were to find out Senator McCain fathered an inter-racial child out of wedlock, would that affect your vote?"
And, now, he's thrown himself in with these fiends.
The man has no dignity.
It's really sad.

8. Maybe we should support McCain! ...
It would be easier to defeat the GOP in '08.
Wouldn't matter what candidate the other parties put up against him.
