Why Bush leads Mugabe in the Ass of Evil list
September 11 versus March 11? Bored by the continuing foibles of Robert Mugabe, Kara van de Pol compares Southern Africa's most loathed leader to George W Bush... and finds a dozen reasons why Dubya is the more lacking.

1 Mugabe's election victory may have been scandalously unjust, but his margin was convincing. Al Gore, on the other hand, won more votes than Bush did. And, as Bob breezily pointed out to Bush, Zimbabwe did not interfere with Florida's election debacle.

2 No matter how murderous Mugabe's regime has been, state-sanctioned killing hasn't been his proudest political project. Bush, however, presided over the executions of 152 people when he was the Texan governor - and seemed to find it amusing. Time Magazine in "Death, Be Not Proud" said in February 2000: "Although he said he was anguished by the decision, in an interview in Talk magazine, writer Tucker Carlson described Bush mimicking the woman's final plea for her life. "'Please,' Bush whimpers, his lips pursed in mock desperation, 'don't kill me.'"
