"It is time to impeach his ass."
Why We Should Care: The Gagging of Democracy

There is a loud chorus of "centrist" Democrats quaking in their boots about the possibility of spreading more ill will toward the Congress through impeachment. They wish to seek common ground with the extremists and fanatics that populate the Bush Administration. But now that Cheney has determined that his office is an "entity" where checks and balances do not apply, the Congress really has no choice but to remind Mr. Cheney that he is neither a god nor a king. It is time to impeach his ass.

The key question is: Should we compromise with these people?

Kurt Vonnegut didn't think so.

2. I am sick and tired of all the bullshit excuses from the Democrats.

I don't give a rat's ass if impeachment is the politically correct thing to do.

I don't care if they have the votes they need to pull it off.

I don't care if it is going to take a lot of their time.

I want them to do it based on the principle of the thing. I want them to do it because it's the RIGHT THING to do. It's the only way to protect the Constitution.

That is the only reason necessary for impeachment.

In the end, most Americans are going to realize it's being done because it has to be done. This isn't about some affair in a White House corridor. This isn't about a single lie. This goes much, much deeper than that. Americans will understand this once all the facts start coming out. They might not like it, but they will know it's being done because it must be done.

3. Compromise with the 4th level of Gov't called Cheney... I don't think
so. I think everyone see that its time for this man to go. I think most Americans would support this at this point and would hold the reps accountable for keeping a criminal in power. Time to go old man.

4. You do not compromise with thugs, criminals and traitors and that's what
...the Bush and Cheney administration is.

5. In DC there was a rally yesterday
to demand the government restore habeas corpus. The ACLU arranged the whole thing. There was a lobbying event after the rally. This is the kind of thing we need to do for impeachment.

During the rally while Patrick Leahy, Tom Harkin, Nadler, Dodd and Cardin spoke the audience called for impeachment. All these lawmakers were passionate about habeas corpus but would not address the crowd on impeachment.

Then Dennis Kucinich came on stage, and he was greeted like a rock star! The crowd went electric. Why because everyone in that audience knew, he was the one guy who had given us what we wanted. The loudest applause of the day was when he mentioned H Res. 333.

6. Yes, Citizen Lobbying Is The Way To Go
You can even do it over the phone (though in-person is far better). Just make an appointment to talk to either the representative themself or "senior staff."

And be prepared to counter Their False Propaganda Memes.

No one likes to be in a conversation where they're the one sounding like an idiot or a craven quisling.

Sometimes they just have to hear themselves "defending" their Impeachophobia.

8. they are lying about why they won't do it--it's not public they are worried about by Bush's
corporate masters. They don't want to look too independent. They want the business people to think that Democrats will just as happily burn the skin off babies in Iraq or let a kid die of leukemia without treatment here to increase someone's corporate bottom line.

Impeachment would show that they value something more than a future job as a lobbyist, CEO, or board member of a Fortune 500 company.
