Santorum Suggests New Terror Attacks Will Change View Of War
Former Senator predicts "unfortunate events" within a year that will alter perceptions

by Paul Joseph Watson

In an alarming display of fearmongering, former Republican Senator Rick Santorum has suggested that a series of "unfortunate events," namely terrorist attacks, will occur within the next year and change American citizen's perception of the war.

Appearing on the Hugh Hewitt radio show, Santorum also hyped the necessity of "confronting Iran in the Middle East," and predicted that Giuliani, Romney and Tommy Thompson would be the three surviving Republican candidates who would go head to head in the race for the nomination.

Santorum went on to clearly imply that terror attacks will occur inside America which will alter the body politic and lead to a reversal of the anti-war sentiment now dominating the country.

"Between now and November, a lot of things are going to happen, and I believe that by this time next year, the American public’s going to have a very different view of this war, and it will be because, I think, of some unfortunate events, that like we’re seeing unfold in the UK. But I think the American public’s going to have a very different view," said the former senator from Pennsylvania.

Is Santorum expressing foreknowledge of some coming atrocity or is he merely using a tactic familiar to the leadership of his party - exploiting the fear of terror for the purposes of political rhetoric?

Last month, the new chairman of the Arkansas Republican Party Dennis Milligan said that there needed to be more attacks on American soil for President Bush to regain popular approval.

3. Wishin' and Hopin'
There is nothing the conservatives would love more than another terrorist attack on American soil
(as long as it is foreign-based).

9/11 saved Bush's ass. They're looking for the Second Coming.

A bit prematurely? Really it does kinda scare me because the Pukes know that a terror attack or major hostage taking would the only thing that will save the GOP's very sorry ass, it has worked for them in the past.

9. Sure sounds like he has foreknowledge of what's coming down the pike!
The only thing is, if he's spewing it like that now, I doubt that it will have the effect on the American people that he's predicting it will. At least, I hope they're not all brain-dead enough to follow like lemmings.

14. I suspect he is right, and I suspect the Repukes will again be the ones behind it
Anyone surprised?

Terror benefits them directly - helps reelection, enriches their cronies, and feeds their need for unquestioned power.

We will be attacked before Super Tuesday, if the Dem is in the lead still at that time. Watch.

Bin Laden and the Repukes are LONG STANDING allies - they have innumerable interests in common after all.

15. Santorum is pure evil.
We've known that ever since he said on "The Daily Show" that abusive, child-molesting fathers have an absolute right to do anything they please to their own children.

I was very pleased that he lost the subsequent election. Now, please, can everyone stop giving him a microphone?

18. Wow, what a prescient fellow! One has to wonder if he's on the
planning committee for the upcoming false flag operations. No doubt they will be the pretext for a war on Iran -- Zbigniew Brzezinski all but said this would happen in a Senate committee hearing last year. What we have to do is to expose these operations before they are carried out.

Santorum Aides, State Trooper, Settle Lawsuit with Bookstore Customers
June 27, 2007 By Matthew Rothschild
On the evening of August 10, 2005, a Delaware state trooper kicked several young women out of a Barnes & Noble bookstore where then-Senator Rick Santorum was about to do a book signing. The trooper arrested two of the women, and threatened others with arrest.

With the help of the ACLU affiliates of Delaware and Pennsylvania, four of the women sued the trooper and two Santorum campaign aides.

On June 27, the ACLU affiliates announced that a settlement has been reached.

“Under the settlement, the Delaware State Police will adopt a policy and training program for its officers on the free speech rights of protesters and pay $15,000 to the plaintiffs in legal fees,” says a press release from the state ACLU affiliates. The trooper agreed to write a letter to the plaintiffs, as did the Santorum aides. The aides also agreed to pay $2,500 in damages to the plaintiffs.

Stacey Galperin, one of the arrested women, was the lead plaintiff in the case.

“It was totally unacceptable that we were led out of the bookstore like criminals just because we wanted to have a conversation with the Senator,” she said in the press release. “We hope that the new policy the police adopted will encourage others to express their views, even when those ideas aren’t popular

It was a nice experiment while it lasted. With absolutely insane fear-mongers like this, sadly we may be in for an abrupt implosion.
