Congress, The Debates, Progressives and "Bundling"

Every day we hear another Progressive say that we should leave Congress alone. That is by far the most asinine thing that I have ever read in my life. If we leave Congress alone, then just who is supposed to save our Republic from the goddamn Nazi’s? Should I, Timothy Gatto, get my weapon out and storm the White House? Isn’t Congress supposed to be the Check on the old Checks and Balance when it comes to toning down the behavior of an executive branch run rampant? Seems to me that I saw another President that thought he was invincible fall from power when I was a young man. Let’s see, who did it? That’s right…Congress!

So we should leave Congress alone? Ya think? I don’t. See, there is more to Congress than just the Democrats. There is a whole other party out there called the Republicans. As much as everyone hates to say it, they do make up just about half of the Senate and a good part of the House. I am one of those crazy people that believe that there are some good republicans, just as there are some really bad Democrats. I am so sick of the bipartisan fighting in the Federal Government that reading the paper, or reading the news just makes me sick. Both political parties have this idea that the other party comes from hell. I wonder sometimes why some people are Democrats and some are Republicans. Both political parties have just about the same platforms; the only difference is that they play to different audiences. Both leaders of both parties are predominantly rich white men. There are a few exceptions but not many, 85% of the Senate is made up of rich white men over the age of 55.

So what do the Republicans think of Bush and Cheney turning this country into a dictatorship? I can’t believe that they all want to give up their jobs in the Senate and retire to their summer homes now that they turned the government over to a gang of Nazis. Don’t you believe that there are a few Congressmen that happen to be Republican that don’t relish the idea of having their assets taken because they happen to disagree with the way the President is waging this imperialistic war in Iraq? I think that there must be some. I live in South Carolina, and I have been here for a year or more now. I have seen this State go from loving this President to hating him in one year. If the Democrats think that they have the “lock” on morality, let me be the one to burst their bubble. I haven’t seen much out of the Democrats in the last 20 years. When Hillary Clinton said that she was a “Progressive” last night I almost choked. She is about as “Progressive” as John Edwards with his $400.00 haircuts. Who in their right mind pays for $400.00 haircuts? Then that same person asks me to donate $10.00 to his campaign? What a joke.

All of you Democrat lovers had better set your sights on people that are a little smarter. Dennis Kucinich would be better off if he grabbed Michael Bloomberg and Mike Gravel and Ron Paul and started another political party. If what I heard last night was the best the Democrats could muster, this country is in sad shape. Mike Gravel said something to the effect that all of the top tier candidates were bought and paid for by Wall Street Bankers. He talked about “bundling”. He tried to explain himself but Anderson Cooper shut him up. I put in a call to Senator Gravel, and we are going to discuss what he tried to say last night. Guess what? The DLC and Anderson Cooper can’t shut me up. When I find out, you’ll find out.

The way things are stacking up, we’ll have the next President, the same as the last President. After Clinton, it’ll be Jeb Bush. After him it will be Chelsey. That sounds like bullshit to me. That is if we even have another election. If Bush doesn’t declare a “State of Emergency” or we drop nukes on Iran. This is what Congress is supposed to do, keep our government honest. So far they haven’t. The Democrats are only a wee bit less sickening that the Republicans. I still can’t believe that we don’t have 52 men in the Senate that won’t stand up for our Republic.
