One Word for All of You China Product Bashers: “Cigarettes”

As America continues it’s relentless mission to push the limits of hypocrisy in every area from human rights to personal or national security, the recent spate of attacks on Chinese made products by the American glass-house-living, stone throwing establishment media serves as another example of how American hypocrisy seems to have no limits.

Let us for a moment forget about the healthy and safe contributions to our air, water and DNA altered food supply our American corporations have made. Forget for a moment about the mercury in your autistic child’s American made vaccine or the hormones, antibiotics or rocket fuel in your American cow produced milk, and forget about the poison pouring into our rivers from our American manufacturing plants. Forget for a moment about the new laws pushed through by the Bush administration reversing the efforts to reduce the amount of mercury and other poisons being pumped into your air by coal burning power plants. Let’s just think about one product made predominantly by American companies and sold around the world by American companies. That one product: cigarettes.

But where's the warning on baby bibs and toothpaste?

Goofy logic.

I think that a big distinction is that most people, by now, know that cigarettes are harmful to you.

But when you purchase toothpaste or cough syrup or even pet food, you don't even imagine that there would be any danger with ingesting it. You are trusting that the ingredients are all harmless and straightforward.

And the saddest part is that most of the "substitutions" in the Chinese products were to substitute cheaper ingredients so that more profit could be made.

At least our cancer sticks are all natural carcinogenics. :sarcasm:

Yep, no need for substitutions, they are dangerous enough by their own merit.

People CHOOSE to smoke. They know they're putting crap into their lungs.

Parents do not CHOOSE to shove lead down their toddler's throat.

Good god.

LOGIC. Do people not have any reasoning skills anymore.
