From the Department of New Bush Epithets -- (Obsto Formido)
Edited on Sat Jan-24-04 05:27 PM by jokerman2004
I just turned on the TV. Usually the sound comes up first before the picture breaks onto the screen like an eye openning and the first thing I hear is a re-broadcast of Junior Bushco giving the State of the Union address on C-SPAN. Even without a picture I recognize it instantly.

***

What Amazing Ritual Theater the SOTU Is!

The toady sorcerors in Rove's ministry of black magic have the Bush golem all cranked tight and chanting statistics again. Chocolate rations are up 18% by the way. Those mojo-boys just love numerology, don't they? Especially numbers rigged with flashing green neon $$$$$$ signs...

And as the tv image snaps on, this plump little word just drops into my brain.

SHRUMP.

SHRUMP...

?

mmm.

SHRUMP

SHRUMP

It's a gumdrop of a word. SHRUMP nicely expresses the feelings of contempt, despair and ennui that take hold whenever I see or hear the golem talking. He's talking in code of course. The Shrump is a golem you see. All golems do that.

The fact is, Shrump really is an honest and decent man. He looks like one doesn't he? What's the difference? And also, he's not lying to the American people about how great things are getting.

I know this for a fact and here's why:

Listen carefully. The Shrump is up there talking about a different America than the rest of us are, and the Shrump is invoking a highly specific definition of who "the American people" are.

Try if you can for a moment to imagine actually living inside, and in harmony with, the quite real and wildly appropriating world view in which everything the Shrump is doing or has done is the right thing to do; a world in which the golem is a good and decent man and speaks on behalf of what is good and decent; a world in which human beings see themselves in the golem and give him the adulation he requires.

:nuke:

Everything the Shrump says is completely true for those who believe they are benefiting from its power over the American ethos. Those who benefit are now the one's called "American People" and they want a piece of the "America" the Shrump says it serves. The Shrump is a servator.

The Shrump's not even TALKING to us, folks. See? That's very old mojo for making people disappear -- just ignore them till they go away.

We who think the Constitution is a pretty good idea; who like the seperation of powers in our government just fine, and who believe equal rights and liberty for all -- regardless of distinctions real or imagined -- is just obvious wisdom for the future of humanity; we who aren't complicit; who won't benefit from the New American Century, we're being systematically occluded into irrelevance by a devouring world view based on racism and greed.

I'm thinking about the Shrump's teeth right now.

America is hemorraging.

The Shrump can pray too: "May God continue to bless America."

Hey kids! It's easy to be afraid of the Shrump. But just remember, the Shrump is more afraid of us than we are of him.

Never Fear. Just
DUMP the SHRUMP!

p.s. Who is Ashley Pearson, really???

2. Some interesting lore regarding golems
http://golem.plush.org/history/

"As golems are bound to serve their creator,"{calling Dick Cheney} "they were made to perform simple tasks. These tasks would show an impurity in the purpose of the creator and would be against the set tenets for spiritual purity in golem creation. The longer the golem is used for such impure purposes, the larger it grows and the more unwieldy it becomes."

"...soulless creatures, like the golem, are often considered an abomination. The lack of a soul always seems to suggest a cripplingly low intelligence, with no moral standard to prevent any depraved acts. Something essential is missing, and such a creature can't "live" long without sinking below acceptable standards of society."

Yep, seems like an accurate description of the chimp.
