Soros: The US Is Now in the Hands of a Group of Extremists
Fundamentalism has spawned an ideology of American supremacy

George Soros

The invasion of Iraq was the first practical application of the pernicious Bush doctrine of pre-emptive military action, and it elicited an allergic reaction worldwide - not because anyone had a good word to say about Saddam Hussein, but because we insisted on invading Iraq unilaterally without any clear evidence that he had anything to do with September 11 or that he possessed weapons of mass destruction.

The gap in perceptions between America and the rest of the world has never been wider. Abroad, America is seen as abusing the dominant position it occupies; opinion at home has been led to believe that Saddam posed a clear and present danger to national security. Only in the aftermath of the Iraqi invasion are people becoming aware they have been misled.

Even today, many people believe that September 11 justifies behaviour that would be unacceptable in normal times. The ideologues of American supremacy and President Bush personally never cease to remind us that September 11 changed the world. It is only as the untoward consequences of the invasion of Iraq become apparent that people are beginning to realise something has gone woefully wrong.

7. I like your white house graphic
however, the evil eye should be over the pentagon & it's corporate military industrial complex - bush is just one of the minions - the real threat is people like richard perle and the PNAC.

9. Think on that, though.
Saruman was only a minion of Sauron, but the Lidless Eye was hanging over Orthanc.

The photo is most apt if you think about it :)

21. Thanks for the comments
I originally did it for a photoshop on Fark back in December that was about the FBI "blurring" the tops of DC buildings, for security reasons. The picture is my explanation of why they are doing it...

George Soros

Founder and Chairman

George Soros was born in Budapest, Hungary on August 12, 1930. He survived the Nazi occupation of Budapest and left communist Hungary in 1947 for England, where he graduated from the London School of Economics (LSE). While a student at LSE, Soros became familiar with the work of the philosopher Karl Popper, who had a profound influence on his thinking and later on his professional and philanthropic activities.

The financier. In 1956, Soros moved to the United States, where he began to accumulate a large fortune through an international investment fund he founded and managed. Today he is chairman of Soros Fund Management LLC.

The philanthropist. Soros has been active as a philanthropist since 1979, when he began providing funds to help black students attend the University of Cape Town in apartheid South Africa. Today he is chairman of the Open Society Institute (OSI) and the founder of a network of philanthropic organizations that are active in more than 50 countries. Based primarily in Central and Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union—but also in Africa, Latin America, Asia, and the United States—these foundations are dedicated to building and maintaining the infrastructure and institutions of an open society. They work closely with OSI to develop and implement a range of programs focusing on civil society, education, media, public health, and human rights as well as social, legal, and economic reform. In recent years, OSI and the Soros foundations network have spent more than $400 million annually to support projects in these and other focus areas. In 1992, Soros founded Central European University, with its primary campus in Budapest.

The author and philosopher. Soros is the author of eight books, including The Bubble of America Supremacy: Correcting the Misuse of American Power (PublicAffairs, January 2004); George Soros on Globalization (2002); The Alchemy of Finance (1987); Opening the Soviet System (1990); Underwriting Democracy (1991); Soros on Soros: Staying Ahead of the Curve (1995); The Crisis of Global Capitalism: Open Society Endangered (1998); and Open Society: Reforming Global Capitalism (2000). His articles and essays on politics, society, and economics regularly appear in major newspapers and magazines around the world.

George Soros's political activities are wholly separate from the Open Society Institute. Read an official OSI statement on this subject.

8. this nightmare has been building
behind the scenes for many many years, particularly since clinton beat poppybush. I dont ever remember so many top administration officials having been on the rotating, ever revolving pentagon/corporate/lobbyist/pentagon/advisor/congress/whitehouse door for so many years, as well so many being so close to scandals swirling around them for dubious dealings of one sort or another.
George Soros has been speaking out, and taking action to match his words, for some time - its only now that we are getting to a more critical phase that people are starting to pay attention to him.

20. I believe it was December 12th 2000 to be exact.
Though I may have the exact date wrong it was when the Supreme Court selected the Emperor Bush* the lessor, and it definitely is a nightmare.

6. Very bad nightmare
It started out with fear in Dec. 2000, a bad dream coming on kind of feeling. By 2003 we were in a full on nightmare. This is your worst Twilight Zone episode but this time it's real.

The arrogance of this administration will either bring it down or continue to bring down the US on every level.

Thank you George Soros. A man that knows that money does talk, big time.

Sonia

10. Why should I respect a billionair that thrives on the backs of others?
I don't care how he spends his petty cash he made his fortune on the labour of us. His feeble attempt to buy us off is rejected by me.

When he gives all his billions to good causes then I'll listen.

intelligently investing his money and playing hunches with market timing. Thats the capitalist way, and there are shrewd but honest ways to do it. Do you begrudge that just because you have not had the opportunity to be so fortunate? He does it because he enjoys the mental challenge of business financing. Just because he is incredibly smart, and he has managed to make money, does not make him a bad person. That he is so troubled with what he sees, to spend so much of his money on worthy causes for humanity rather than for personal indulgences, should speak pretty loudly for on his underlying character. Too bad more people blessed with wealth do not share his sense of philanthropy.

14. Exactly. Soros is just trying to save the investment.
Soros is no hero. Anyone who knows me here knows I've posted on this before. Soros did business with the Carlyle Group ($100 million investment), helped finance the so-called 'rose revolution' in the former republic of Georgia - which succeeded with the help of notorious Bush Crime Family bagman James Baker - and is basically one of the monied elite.

His goal here is to preserve the nice, tight framework that has been developed over the last century to control and direct our lives toward the right consumer goods and away from free thinking.

Soros is no white knight.

15. He has a billion dollars and he wants to get rid of Bush
We need people like that.

It's fine to be cautious, but we need every ally we can find right now, especially those with the money and power to get the message into the media.

So far, Soros has been doing great at getting his message out. Like it or not, as a rich white guy, he has a lot more credibility with some Americans than some left leaning groups do.

he's one of the big "players" of the international "community". Just
because he SOUNDS like a philanthropist does not make him one. He
has had some very questionable actions in the past.
Sorry...I don't trust billionaires...

11. Soros is really getting his message out there
Imagine if we had thousands of loud powerful fighting Democrats out there like Soros, each one fighting to get thier voice into the media.

So many on our side are afraid of offending anyone - Soros seems to thrive on telling the right wing what they don't want to hear.

Thank you, George!
