Americans first (Good Read)
November 20. 2007 12:30AM

On Nov. 15, your paper stated that 35.5 million Americans went hungry in 2006. They were unable to find jobs to support themselves and their families. This is unconscionable.

Instead of outsourcing technical jobs to India, the Philippines and other countries, why don't we instruct Americans to do these jobs? They would speak understandable English. We would be enabling them to have jobs and a future. These Americans would be able to build their self-respect and take care of their families.

Perhaps companies like Dell and others pay less by outsourcing, but Americans never get the benefit of this outsourcing. We still pay top dollar for these services. I would rather pay a little more knowing I was helping Americans get jobs.

I don't see any other country coming to our aid or outsourcing services to the United States. We give billions of dollars away to other countries, and we can't make sure everyone in America has enough food or is able to get a job. Illegal immigrants get all kinds of aid.

Something is wrong with this picture. Let's begin to take care of all Americans first.
