Rove: "Congress Pushed Bush to War in Iraq Prematurely"
Posted November 25, 2007 | 08:56 PM (EST)

You are not going to believe this, well, actually you will... According to Karl Rove (on Charlie Rose), the Bush Administration did not want Congress to vote on the Iraq War resolution in the fall of 2002, because they thought it should not be done within the context of an election. Rove, you see, did not think the war vote should be "political".

Moreover, according to Rove, that "premature vote" led to many of the problems that cropped up in the Iraq War. Had Congress not pushed, he says, Bush could have spent more time assembling a coalition, and provided more time to the inspectors.

If you are like me, you have stopped reading/listening, and are rushing to get your anti-emetic.

2. The IWR vote merely AUTHORIZED Chimpy to take military action
IF future inspections and diplomacy didn't work--it didn't REQUIRE him to start a war within any given period of time. Pig-Boy is trying a little revisionist history and is hoping everyone is too stupid to call him on it.

3. Rove - the master of "Retcon".
"Retroactive continuity or retcon is the deliberate changing of previously established facts in a work of serial fiction. The change itself is referred to as a "retcon", and the act of writing and publishing a retcon is called "retconning".

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Retcon

To Rove and the neocons, reality is simply a fiction that they can create as they go along.

6. Oceania has always been at war with Eastasia. Always.
Although, I was digging through my memory hole (eww) the other day and saw this, proving that Rove was advising Republicans to "run on the war" in 2002 before the authorization vote.

I guess that makes me a bad comrade and Eastasia-lover. Or was it Eurasia?

7. This is very funny. Poetic Justice.
Rove repays the supine weasels in Congress for their lickspittle support of the "War pResident" by blaming them for it. "No good deed goes unpunished" as the saying goes. that seems to be especially true for anybody that has supported Bush and his cronies in their imperial project.
