God’s court jester: Alan Keyes.

In these starry-eyed idealists deep fantasies, I envision a raceless society, but after all, this is the United States and race does matter. When you listen to Alan Keyes with your eyes close, you can hear any honky evangelical preacher that came down the pike. Open your eyes and you see a black man and wonder why would a black man emulate a right wing fundamentalist? Larry Elder, a black Los Angeles radio broadcaster does almost the same thing, but it is political ideology. He sounds like every white Libertarian slash Republican who ever attended a table full of Ayn Rand books on college campuses. So, have we turned a major corner in America? No longer we to conform to racial stereotypes? When is racial identity necessary or is it voluntary? That is a subject for another time. Alan Keyes is not concern about Black pride; he is on a mission from God.
Alan Keyes is considered political poison on the right and a laughing stock on the left. God bless him though, he remains emulous. Consider this, if he were white, he would be treated the same way. In my opinion, we are on the verge of another, “Age of Enlightenment” and metaphysical solutions to earthly problems just does not cut it anymore. Keyes intransigently believes in: Faith over Reason. Americans have seen the tragic results of religious fanaticism and grow weary of it daily. The religious proclaim there is a Secular conspiracy to destroy Christianity. A growing majority of Americans are now realizing this is just unadulterated pig shit. But Keyes just keeps on trucking and does not give damn about his critics. You got to admire a man like this.
The Religious right believes that Morality and God are Para biotic. You can’t have one without the other. Well, what if we found out God didn’t exist? Would Morality just stop? It is time for Atheists and Agnostics start addressing the issue of Morality and Ethics or the Religious right will claim to be champions of Morality, which we all know is not true. I wish Alan were aware of this.

My heart is still racing and my stomach churning. I thought you were actually suggesting Keys for president. You sure got my attention. Keys is certifiable, IMO.
