Lack of Cyber Security is Ailing Outsourcing Industry in India
January 30th, 2008 by Praveen Dalal
The outsourcing industry is flourishing at a rapid rate in India. This is a good sign for India. However, we cannot keep our eyes and mind closed towards some crucial aspects if we wish for a “continued and sustainable development” of Outsourcing Industry in India. One such crucial and inevitable factor is the existence of a sound Cyber Law in India and an effective Cyber Security in India. The Cyber Security Trends in India are not very encouraging.<1> To worsen the situation we have a weak Cyber Law in India.<2> The Government of India has still not shown its “E-Readiness” to accept this reality despite the suggestions and recommendations of Perry4Law and PTLB TM/SM in this regard. India also performed poorly as per the norms and standards of “UN E-Government Survey-2008”.<3> This work is also an appeal to the Government of India, NASSCOM, Outsourcing Industry in India, etc to take “Cyber Security Seriously” in India.

Businesses and Professions are primarily guided by efficiency, profit motive, economy, etc. There is a general tendency to attain maximum profit at minimum cost. This is the chief reason for the flourishing growth of “Outsourcing Industry” all over the World. India is a favourite destination for various outsourcing related matters. This also applies to the following services:

(a) Legal Business Process Outsourcing in India (Legal BPO in India),
(b) Legal Knowledge Process Outsourcing in India (Legal KPO in India)<4>,
(c) Legal Process Outsourcing in India (LPO in India)<5>,
(d) Other Legal Outsourcing Services in India, etc.

Thus, Legal BPO in India, Legal KPO in India, LPO in India and Other Legal Process Outsourcing Services in India are going to further increase in India in the future. However, the Outsourcing Service Providers in India must also take care of the Technological Requirements, Data Protection Mandates, Security Issues, etc for gaining a greater trust in them. These are essential pre-requisites of a good LPO/BPO/KPO Provider in India.<6> The correlation between Cyber Law, Cyber Security and Outsourcing Service Providing in India may appear to be an alien concept for a “Dominant Majority” of LPO/KPO/BPO Providers in India but they are neither avoidable nor must be taken lightly. None can understand and apply the desired prerequisites for LPO/KPO/BPO Services in India more effectively and efficiently than Perry4Law and PTLB TM/SM. This is more so when Perry4Law is the Exclusive Techno-Legal LPO, KPO and Law Firm in India.<7> Perry4Law and PTLB TM/SM are committed to provide a “Safe, Secure, Reliable and Efficient Cyber Security Base” for Indian Outsourcing Industry. Like in the past, we are again providing our suggestions, recommendations and expertise to the Government of India and other “Stake Holders” in this regard. Let us hope for the best.
