The collapse of the United States is accelerating: Oil in Euros vs. US dollars
In the last eight years implementing the plans for the Project for the New American Century (PNAC) designed "to promote American global leadership" has backfired.

To accomplish PNAC’s goals, all threats needed to be eliminated. From the onset, the United Sates earmarked two countries as mortal enemies: Venezuela and Iran. With Venezuela, it is well documented that the CIA attempted to overthrow the democratically elected government of Chavez. And with Iran, the United States continues to use it as a scapegoat for its failures in Iraq. These cold war tactics however are proving to be US’s undoing.

The United States is hemorrhaging from every orifice, and oil prices can be used to measure the rapidity of its demise.

In April 2006, Venezuelan president Hugo Chávez launched “a bid to transform the global politics of oil by seeking a deal with consumer countries which would lock in a price of $50 a barrel.” At the time, this proposed price was $15 a barrel below global market levels, and what must surely seems to be a steal at the current $118 a barrel.

2. problem is that this cluster-fuck couldn't have happened without the help of the democrats
in that they refuse to fight back in any way against the cabal(assuming that they aren't actually part of the cabal) and seem to either excel at losing elections(or throwing(my favorite view of what has been happening)).

3. Re: the PNAC.
First of all, thanks for the post.

The PNAC was never really intended to be a "blueprint" for the coming Century even though their documents claim that the US is going to be the Sole Ruler of the World. At one point, they say that the "United States will be a 'Benevolent' 'Dictator' , i.e. a ruthless leader, but still nice nonetheless.

The people who put together these documents understood the REAL dynamics of our economy, our helpless dependence on foreign oil. They knew that as oil prices started to go up, our economy would start to falter. There was no solution on the horizon, no Magic Bullet that could stop the inevitable fall. These people had access to the best information that money can buy. They definitely are not stupid. They were told: the US is going to sink. We are finished as an Empire. Do you want to sink Quickly, or do you want to sink Slowly?

They obviously opted for sinking slowly by taking Iraq. It was seen as the weakest country in the ME, it was vulnerable and easy to grab. Also, it has the world's #2 largest oil reserves. I believe around 2 trillion barrels. So when world supplies of oil started to run out, the U.S. would be sitting on the POT OF GOLD so to speak.

HOWEVER, they also knew it was a wild gamble. There was NO guarantee of success. They knew it was going to cost just about every dollar we had to "go for it". They expected enormous uprisings and resentment. So none of what's happened has been a surprise to them. DO NOT be fooled by the "chocolates and kisses" argument.

They knew what was coming. It was a gamble. And they lost. If you read Paul Wolfowit's statements, you realize it was a last, desperate gamble but they had no choice. Wolfowitz: "We have no choice in the matter".

They were going to hang onto Iraq until the last dollar was spent in the treasury, the last drop of blood spilled by U.S. troops. Because it was their only hope.

Desperation, baby. Pure desperation.

4. I appreciate your understanding, but there are flaws
The basis of the PNAC argument is the absolute necessity of maintaining US world dominance. And the inevitable conclusions and desperate solutions flow from that non-negotiable point.

Give up the point, agree that living as one nation in equal cooperation and partnership with other nations, and then a number of solutions and paths forward arise. The one we have taken is a bloody gamble, squandering irreplaceable capital and diminishing our own future possibilities significantly.

5. I'm all for it
I think that people like Rove, the Bush's, Kristol, and so forth, believe they have "gotten away with it". the undoing is going to be very, very unpleasant for them. If you want to find out what's coming, "The Turner Diaries" might be a decent predictor. I think it's going to get really ugly here pretty soon. My hope is that electing Obama and a Dem Congress and jailing everyone in the Bush administration will pre-empt the worst of it.
