Kerry "Last Man" Speech and Brian Wilson on Democracy Now

Amy Goodman devoted almost her whole show today to rebroadcast nearly the entirety of Kerry's famous testimony at a Congress hearing on ending the Vietnam war. There's a brief but interesting interview afterward with fellow VVAW activist Brian Wilson.

1. I heard Kerry's testimony, but missed

Brian Wilson, so thanks for posting this. As I listened to the courage and conviction of the 27-year-old Kerry forthrightly discuss the morass that was Vietnam and the atrocities committed in our name, I wondered how the hell he morphed into the politician who could vote to give permission to the PNAC crowd to invade and occupy Iraq.

And it was fascinating.

I'd be willing to forgive Kerry his votes in support of the Iraq war and the Patriot Act (that's how eager I am for a Democrat, any Democrat, in the White House) if only he'd stop waffling and say, "I was wrong."

Damn it, John, stop the torrent of words and all the bafflegab. Speak plainly. Say you were wrong and apologize. Be a man, as you were when you were young.
