Editorial: When is it lying? (Milwaukee Journal Sentinel)
A memoir by former Bush press secretary Scott McClellan paints a disturbing picture of a presidency willing to employ nasty means to get to its desired end.
From the Journal Sentinel

... McClellan, ousted in a White House shake-up two years ago, says the president and his aides did not engage in out-and-out deception to sell the war but that they shaded the truth.

And the difference is?

McClellan writes that the White House made "a decision to turn away from candor and honesty when those qualities were most needed - a time when the nation was on the brink of war" ...

... at some point, don't lying and willful disregard for truth amount to the same thing?
