Is the US complicit in covering up right-wing paramilitary links?
And the connection to Uribe in Colombia.

Extradition controversy

Some believe that the extradition to the US of 14 paramilitaries in May this year was an attempt to stop further revelations that could implicate the government.

"The attorney general was hugely opposed to the extradition of the 14 paramilitary leaders," said a senior source in the prosecutor's office.

"Why did the government have to extradite them just then, and not after they had finished giving testimony?"

Among those extradited were some of the AUC's most senior leaders, who between them held the key to the history of the paramilitary army.

2. It was somewhat of a stupid question.

Most of us know what the answer is. The rest are in denial.

4. The truth is almost unbearable, yet it's almost a miracle if we ever hear a word about it.
Our own media tells us the paras have been dismantled, yet close attention to information which IS available to people looking for it tells us, as does Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch, and many other human rights organizations, that far from it, this was a simple illusion, a slight of hands trick, that the evil business of terrorizing the civilian population is still active, only its being carried out by organizations bearing new names, like "Black Hawks" who are, oddly enough, sending the same death threats to the same people who were being terrorized by the A.U.C.

A few of the people who gained too much notoriety have left, but even the leaving, as pointed out, protects them, AND THE GOVERNMENT, from deeper probing for names of politicians and military figures who are connected to the death squads.

How our own media completely whored itself out on this is astonishing. It's also amazing that a paper, which has been 100% under the control of the right-wing extremist elements in Miami, the expatriots from Cuba, Venezuela, the refuse from deposed fiendish murderous Central and South American dictatorships, coups, juntas, puppet presidencies, this paper, "El Nuevo Herald," which has always carried water for them, catered exclusively to them, has produced some articles by two reporters which expose information on Uribe and his connection to the "El Aro" massacre by a joint exercise of the Colombian military, 100 uniformed soldiers, and 50 paramilitaries. Uribe was present during the planning of this massacre, as sworn by a paramilitary who was there, sworn in court. The reporters ALSO have written about Uribe's connection to the towering villain, Pablo Escobar, over a period of years, starting when he was a local politician in the same area, Antiocha, in Medellin, in Colombia, and throughout his climb through various levels on the way to the Presidency, serving, at all times, the interests of the narcotraffickers, who acted as enforces, and assisted him, even in intimidation of voters on election days.

All this from a small Spanish language newspaper published by the Miami Herald for the exclusive use of its right-wing readers.

Tells you how wildly slavish, and compromised our own media are, and how unwilling they are to take the risks we associate with active, conscientious journalism.

5. Control of the M$M was bought out by right-wing reactionaries.
They learned their lesson in Viet Nam where some honest coverage of the war turned the electorate. It was Cardinal Spellman's War, Grand protector of the SMOM, the same SMOM who runs things in Colombia. That's why you don't hear anything.
