The documentgate for the religious right...
I love going on religious right organizations in my free time to see what their messed up views are. But this article truly proves it from the Fokus on the Family. http://www.renewingtheheart.com/Stellent/groups/public/@fotf_renewingtheheart/documents/articles/rth_art_029570.cfm

1. You must be a masochist, but then again,
I must be as well because I couldn't stop myself from reading that disgusting piece of writing. If you ask me, they ought to be born again one more time!

2. I've heard worse
You should see the ultra-sappy teen magazines (www.briomag.com) FotF shoves down kid's throats. Out of curiosity, do anyother religions have missionaries or only us Chrisitans? (I count Mormonism, Gnosism, and Jehova's Witnesses as take-offs of Christianity.)

11. Scientoligists do that
Edited on Fri Aug-01-03 09:16 PM by Friar
One came to my door last year and I told him I went clear in 1999. The kid's eyes glazed over and I thought he was gonna fall down to his knees and worship me.

When Mormons or JW's came by I used to tell them God had appointed me the Modern Day Prophet, Elijah Reincarnate and hand them this raving screed I printed out declaring me God's One True Voice then demand they abandon their blasphemous ways. It was hilarious. I don't do that anymore but it was fun to be virulently antichristian for a time. Damn. I wish I still had that thing.

4. wow
Yeah but I've never seen any of FotF products being advertised anywhere. And I think most christian denomination reject the idea of running around screaming out the gospel in a foreign country. How strong is their influence. And I don't think I get their channel.

7. Well, I didn't read the tripe the whole way through,,,,,,,,,,
I was torn from between falling asleep from boredom and/or barfing all over myself.

Did you note the arrogance?.... "their lifeless Gods".....

When was the the last time the Christian/Judaic God ever got up off of his lazy rump to DO anything?

And before you flame me, remember this: just as you have a right to worship any god you choose, so do I have a right to criticize any religion and any god if I choose. No one can make me give lip service to any god against my will. I have no respect for any god, if fact I have contempt for all gods.......that is my right. And I have a right to express that opinion even if you feel don't like my opinion. Don't flame me because I refuse to kiss anybody's ass just because they believe in gods. You don't like it....move on.

This message wasn't intended for anyone who has posted a reply on this thread, so far. I am just anticipating some one will get their jock strap in a snarl because I'm not awed by their god.

9. in Genesis "the One True God" speaks in 2nd person plural.
i always found that interesting, even more interesting is the relationship of Christianity and mithra...Genesis is actually a creation myth from Sumeria about 10,500 BC. it did not originate form the Jews

12. Sumeria is not quite that old
"The best preserved early village so far uncovered by Catal Huyuk in southern Turkey, excavated in 1961. The large, 32-acre site, first occupied shortly before 6000 B.C., contains some of the most advanced features of Neolithic culture: pottery, woven textiles, mudbrick houses, shrines honoring a mother goddess, and plastered walls decorated with murals and carved reliefs."

10. 33 million gods?
Edited on Fri Aug-01-03 09:24 PM by Friar
Can't any fundie ever tell the truth about anything?

"Two weeks in Madurai, India — the great city whose inhabitants boast worship of more than 33 million gods."

That's like 1.34 gods for every man, woman and child, I bet. LOL.

ps: I've seen better writing skills from 13 year olds.

"As dusk settled upon our first day in India, I found myself perched on the crusade-grounds stage."

I wonder if she was suprised to see herself perched there like a canary?
