God knows, we've got enough s___ on our plate.

Even in our own party, we've got a crowd of Obama haters who are cutting off the nose to spite the face of what’s left of the Democratic Party.

The Clinton's, for example, seem to be much more focused on Hillary's run for the presidency in 2012, than Barack Obama in 2008.

And McCain. Well what can you say? It may be unchristian to say it, but the guy is on the mental skids big time. Alzheimer’s or whatever, who knows, but the thought of a president in diapers who will treat pushing nuclear buttons like a blubbering your lips video game is beyond terrifying.

But enough already with the negative talk, however realistic.

I, for one, am trying to think positive these days. We all know the bad stuff, and it really IS bad stuff, but what about the good stuff? What about keeping the faith and fighting the good fight?

IF THERE'S A WILL, THERE'S A WAY. Sue me, I know it’s a cliché, but boy does the shoe fit.

Think about that. It really is one of the most profound things we humans have ever thought. It applies to money problems, health problem, your love life, and on and on.

KEEPING THE FAITH is another way to say it.

We're gearing down for the home stretch, so let's go after it will good cheer, optimism, and "positive thinking".

I confess, I'm reprimanding myself a tad, since when things are black, it's often constructive to say it like it is. But that's getting to be a bad strategy (in my humble opinion).

What do you folks think? I think of you as my "extended political family" (I really do). Don't you think it would help if we all somehow got more focused on the optimistic and positive?

I mean, I have no illusions about what's on our plate and I know McCain is walking World War Three, but all the more reason to keep the faith and maybe even figure out, for example, how to be more friendly with the Clinton folk. They are still very disappointed and frustrated about the primaries but, God in heaven, they have more in common with Obama supporters than McCain supporters and hopefully in their heart of hearts they realize that.

So one hopeful thing is to say and think positive things about the Clinton camp.

Here's another positive thought (which I happen to believe). I think the "true Obama" was the one we saw in the primaries, not the one who is now playing necessary political chess with America's political center. My God, the guy has to be given a chance. First things first is that he's got to WIN -- then we'll have a chance to see his soul and heart, and liberal values notwithstanding, NOBODY EVERY WINS who doesn't have the support of America's political center.

Do we want to be Nadirized again? All that perfectionist jive is political loony tunes. It will NEVER lead to anything but the answer to the prayers of the pugs. So, let's give Obama some room. You have to admit, this guy is sharp. My sense of Obama is that he is a politician whose just doesn't make big mistakes (which is more than you can say about either Gore or Kerry at this stage of the election game).

Please don't misunderstand me; I think Gore and Kerry were both great and NEITHER of them legitimately lost the election. According to the exit poll international standard for detecting fraudulent elections, both Gore and Kerry should have won. But in many ways, neither of them ran a tight enough ship. When you're dancing with the Devil, YOU CAN'T MAKE BIG MISTAKES, and so far, Obama is 100% on track.

Also, I know the Gore and Kerry thing is debatable, so let's not get side tracked by that issue. The "voice in the wilderness" of this piece is to keep the faith and stay not just optimistic, but VERY optimistic.

It's that business (again to say it differently); THAT THE ONLY THING WE HAVE TO FEAR IS FEAR ITSELF.

If we don't win this election, and I mean win BIG, both in the congress and the presidency, I know in my quarks it will be because we lost the faith, got too depressed, negative, and angry too keep our realistic patriotic cool.

So God bless the Clinton's and God bless the centrists, and even God bless the DLC. Hell, even God bless Ralph Nader.

If there has ever been a time in the entire history of our country that we must have collective resolve, this is it.

We must ALL be "presidential", passionate, and (maybe most of all) enthusiastically optimistic.

Hey, we're on our way to TOTALLY taking our country back!!! I think that's worth a few cheers.
