Lies my DNC told me
I don't entirely agree with all of this article (I thought in particular the section about Michelle Obama was uncalled for- even though I basically agree that she deserves to be more than the kind of political wife) who stands there and looks pretty), but the rest is pretty spot-on. I mean, all of it was sponsored by ATT! That same piece of crap corporation who spied on your phone calls and has now received immunity for it. And now it's time to pay back the very politicians who gave them immunity. Fuck ATT and ANYONE who voted for FISA. I am sorry I am interrupting all the gushing but I just do not believe in our system anymore. What we need is major change, not incremental, middle-of-the-road change. I just feel numb.

Like all years, this Democratic National Convention is touted as THE year that the Democrats will end that darn D.C. corruption and REALLY let the Republicans have it. For those of you who haven't been watching, it's the same stuff Kerry said at his DNC, and Gore, and Clinton, all the way back to that first morn at the dawn of time when an elephant stumbled into a dark, dank cave and raped a donkey.

When the constantly humming crowd hasn't been using Evan Bayh's speech time as a collective bathroom break, they've been parading around with AT&T swag. The tote bags given to DNC participants read "Denver2008" and beneath that rests the iconic AT&T globe. That is the same AT&T that willingly eavesdropped on American citizens and received immunity for the deed.

Now, AT&T is sponsoring the entire DNC for the same politicians that gave them their Get Out Of Jail Free cards. That is the same DNC that built this three-day PR charade on the premise that they are the new and improved Democrats - the Progressives - those blue knights on their stallions of "Hope" and "Change."

2. Sponsored by AT&T? I didn't know that. It's alarming that there are so few comments
and not surprising.

It seems that Democrats never learn. We'll swallow "Impeachment is off the table," we'll swallow the FISA vote of July, and then have an inappropriate, un-sober, irrational exuberance -- and it's sponsored by AT&T?

3. We expect this to be a long struggle.
One guy, even an Obama, is just the start. And you won't fix the problems this country has by getting upset. We need a new President and a new Congress. Then we can start. Then we will see what Obama is made of. Then we will see if we are ready to finish the job we started back in the 60s and take back our country from these authoritarian, self-serving weasels.

So anyway, we don't get all that worked up just because someone points out that Obama has played the game to get elected President. We would not be having this conversation if he had not.

4. Who the hell is Allison Kilkenny?
Just because she writes it, doesn't make it so.

She seems to find one flaw in a politician, family member, or part of a campaign, and exaggerates and ridicules the flaw beyond recognition. Ms. Kilkenny is mean, petty and over the top. She is no sage of the future. And she's certainly no expert.

OK, I agree it is very sad that the DNC has to take money from scum bag monopolies like ATT. But the truth is, if we want to get rid of the criminals in the government now, we have to take money from the monsters they have created. It's sad, it's dangerous, it's damaging but it is necessary. If we want to get rid of the criminals we have to dance with the devil. It's the world the bushes have created.

Now FDR had tons of money, JFK had tons of money, but they both took money from corporations to get elected. Obama does not have tons of money. So, he needs this financial support more than did our other two great Presidents.

Once we get Obama in power, we are going to have to keep a close eye on him and hold him to his campaign promises. We can't turn away and think everything is now fixed (which I think we did when Clinton was president). WE must watch Obama and tell him exactly what we want, over and over again, to keep monopolies like ATT from influence his policies and morphing him into a neocon.

Welcome to bush and Rove politics. It's the way of the world and we have to play on the field to win the game.
