A story of a man who slept through storms.
The man was a hired man, who worked for a farmer. The man lived next to the farmer but in a smaller house. When there was a big storm, the farmer ran to the hired man's house and told him to get up because there was a storm. The hired man told him he wasn't worried. "Go back to bed."

The farmer went outside during the storm and everything seemed ok. So he went back to bed.

When the next storm came, the farmer thought that it looked even worse than the first. So he rushed to the hired man's house and woke him up. "It's really bad this time, we need to get outside and take care of the farm." The hired man said he wasn't worried. "Go back to bed." Again, the farmer found that the farm was fine despite the storm.

The next evening, no storm was forecast, but the farmer noticed the hired man tying everything down for the night. The farmer was impressed by the man's thoroughness. He went outside and asked why he was tying everything down even though no storm was predicted. The hired man replied, "I always tie everything down so that I can sleep through the storms and not worry."

If you think about it, it's too bad bush didn't have that same attitude. If he'd taken care of business before the storm, he wouldn't have had anything to regret. Instead, he's once again worried about a storm that might create an even worse storm for his presidency. No one sleeps through storms anymore. Not with bush as our hired man.

1. what's the origin of this fable?
It's neat, just wondering where it originated from.
