Guess it's time to "launch the propoganda" some more. Anytime this (mis)Administration is doing the rounds selling something, you just know you have to watch your back (and your wallet, civil liberties, basic human rights, national dignity, ability to provide for your family......)

ABC's "This Week" — Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson; Sen. Chris Dodd, D-Conn.; Rep. John Boehner, R-Ohio.

___

CBS' "Face the Nation" — Paulson; Rep. Barney Frank, D-Mass.; Sen. Richard Shelby, R-Ala.

___

NBC's "Meet the Press" — Paulson; New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg.

___

CNN's "Late Edition" — Douglas Holtz Eakin, adviser to John McCain; former Rep. Rob Portman, R-Ohio.

"Fox News Sunday" _ Paulson; Sens. Jon Kyl, R-Ariz., and Charles Schumer, D-N.Y.; Bonnie McElveen-Hunter, chair of the Red Cross.

1. Well, once the train wreck has begun
You don't really need the engineer working the brake any more...

You're doing a heck of a job, Hank!

2. well, because it's not as much of a crisis, as it is a coup
and/or robbery, so in either case, you need a frontman out there peddling propaganda.

5. Um, this may be a dumb question, but...
The problem last week was a sudden run on money markets, as I understand the story. If x-number of billion dollars in liquidity hadn't been added by the Fed, there would've been a run on the MMs, and the DOW would've fallen to 8,000. That's what I read.

Ok, so here's the question. If the FDIC guaranteed MM accounts up to $100K like savings accounts (let's say, if they went below a buck and stayed there for a period of time or went bankrupt), don't you think that would be enough for people to keep their money in them? Wouldn't that be enough to stop stampedes? Wouldn't it do as much as this "fix" is doing?

I don't know but it would seem logical. And simpler. And cheaper.
