McCain Woos Radicals, Obama Woos Virginia Conservatives

Faced with attack ads against him left and right, Obama is showing bigger leads in Ohio and Minnesota today, and he need not construct attack ads mentioning McCain�s relationships with convicted criminals and radicals. Instead Obama and his campaign are educating people about subtle racism to bring Americans together.

4. Not many of us

have seen the inside of a miner's bathhouse. To be serious, the culture down there doesn't prepare these guys to accept a black candidate, and I think it revolutionary that the Obama campaign is talking straight instead of ignoring these voters.

5. The Obama campaign is remarkable for speaking directly to the issues

no matter how uncomfortable that issue is to talk about. My g-grandfather was a coal miner, so I understand how stark that culture can be (through his sons and daughters; he died before I was born) and how truculently defensive when it comes to matters of race. It's time someone went there to speak to these mostly forgotten people directly and to listen to their concerns. This is one more impressive facet of Barack Obama's outreach.

7. I can't wait to vote for him!

I found out last week when I went to get certified on a voting machine for special needs people that I can vote up to two weeks prior to election day at the Board of Elections. I'm relieved since the walk from where I'm working to my own polling place is uphill all the way! I signed on for a sixteen (plus) hour day so I could make sure that the state has enough election inspectors and that everyone who is entitled to vote gets to vote, and that all those votes get counted. We will make history in 2008! You and me both, Stingo -- we are going to be SO PROUD on election day! :dem:
